Final thoughts.
With the release of the GeForce 8800 512MB GTS, a really charming product has entered the long 8800 product line. My advise, forget about the 8600 series and skip the 8800 GTX or Ultra's. Just go for either a GeForce 8800 GT 512MB or 8800 GTS 512MB, leave the rest as it, as these two products are where the real value versus a joyful gaming experience is to be found. You'll enjoy the 512MB GTS very much, any game to date can be played at the nicest image quality settings and resolutions, just don't touch DX10 and you are home-free enjoying the games the way they are meant to be played.
Mucho gracias go out to BFG and Point of View for submitting their samples.

I was thinking on buying this gts 512 mb version but the difference is hardly massive compared to the gt 512 version plus you will save over 50 pounds.
Nice card though.

Can't grumble at that seeing how the gtx was what 500 pounds when it was released?

Yeah, sure, but GTX was out a year ago... Just like when the new GTX comes out in a month and a half, and it will outdwarf all those GT/GTS cards.

For what price?
The gt version is especially affordable for what the card actually is all be it minus the direct 10 support.
I didn't even know they will be releasing a new gtx version card?
Have you got a link please?

Yeah the GT is very close to the GTS.
However the GTS is 10-15% faster usually, so it's still ok if you feel you just need something that's a little faster than GT.
Is the higher price worth the small performance increase? I'd say no.
But there are people out there who don't care that much about the price and for those, the gts is just fine.
Basically gives you GTX performance for 300-350$.
But yeah, I'm just gonna get a GT once they drop in price to their MSRP.
THe GTS is just too expensive. For 250-300€ I'd get one, but right now they cost around 350€ here and that's simply too much.
I sure as hell hope that the availability is going to be better now for the GT so the prices will finally drop.
