So with the ongoing strike of the writers and...

Colbert Report
Big bang Theory
Family Guy
The Daily Show
Desperate Housewives
Bionic Woman
Numbers
Ghost Whisperer
CSI
Prison Break
simpsons
Battlestar Galactica
Eureka

... being unfinished and kinda put on hold, do you think it's a TV crisis?

Classic poker game to see who folds first. Very Happy Only thing is, if no one folds, everybody loses. No episodes, viewers lose interest, writers fired, etc. Like that baseball strike some years back. Club owners tried to fill the gap with some minor league games (or some crap like that) and ticket sales plummeted.

I guess the writers want a bigger share of the pie. I mean a large part of multi-million dollar budgets for movie/tv show goes to the actors (stats anyone?) and the writers feel underpaid.

is there any details around to actually make me feel inclined to support the writers? Or is it just overpayed fuck-ups that want to get payed even more because of the strike, so they can buy one more line of coke and a crack-whore?

i think there just whinging because the percent of the money they actually get compared to the shows earnings is really low but they still get paid alot

They're whining because they want royalties from DVD sales they were being fooled about all these years. A good reason to whine, imo.

its all good for me really... most of those shows are crap, AND in my third world country we are atleast 2 or so years behind the americans, so we wont even notice the strike in the least

but this is why i hate unions... strikers are such cunts, they only think about themselves - what about all the other people they fuck over when THEY decide they want more money... entire productions shut down... writers get paid whats agreed on, so they should deal with it. they want more, they should negotiate for better pay, and they either get it, or they can fuck off and go work somewhere else... striking just proves how selfish and self centered the pricks are, so i dont support them. i dont support anyone who strikes.

it's having an effect on me, I watch a lot of american shows before they get shown in the UK, so i'm usually no more than a day behind the US. Currently I cannot get Prison Break, Desperate Housewives, family guy, the office and a few other I can't remember. So with the shitty UK programming I'm feeling the pinch.

I also believe the writers should get a share of the DVD sales (especially if the actors do)

CHIV, you had better not be from the UK, refering to it as a third world country!

most tv series would be on break at the moment anyways. The full extent of the strike wont hit home untill after new year imho.
