I have the FLT release and when I try to update it says "old file " so it doesn't patch it. It continues to patch and says " sucessfully patched to 1.1. I put the crack in and it crashes. Anyone get this to work with FLT release? Thanks Zellar

The uopdate worked with FLT release...I had to re-name the Bioshock.exe before I updated the game. Then after the update I re-named the Bioshock.exe back to the way it was.

He's of the opinion that a thread gets old and dies after a while, but not so here at nfohump, here we like to keep all the information in the thread about the subject it's related to. Regardless I believe he insinuated you're threadraiser thus "necro".

Has anyone played this since the 1.1 patch? They included a few new plasmids and was curious if they were any good. I reinstalled the game as theres nothing much better to play atm.

I played it recently and I was knee-deep in plasmids to choose from, but found myself sticking to a select few (didn't have any reason to use the whole arsenal).
And btw. I don't not think that the new plasmids were that useful, infact I tried all of them, Big dissapointment.

I found a balance mod, anyone played with it, is it any good?
I havent played very far so i dont know if it is needed. Its seemd kinda easy on hard but im not sure. The thing that annoyed me the most was that you dont loose anything when you die...? Only respawn again like nothing had happent... Really hate games that dont punish you for dying.

The 1.1 patch added the option to remove those "Vita chambers" that prevented you from dying, also added three new "plasmids" and some general bugfixes.

Oh please the only reason why the PS3 got that is because no one cares about the game anymore and they were worried it wouldn't sell well if there wasn't anything new. Its not enough to warrant another play through.

BioShock coming to Mac next month!!1
Quote: | On October 7th, prepare to descend to the depths of the undersea city of Rapture when Feral Interactive releases the critically acclaimed BioShock for Mac. Developed by 2K Boston and 2K Australia, and originally published by 2K Games, BioShock introduces gamers to an exciting world filled with fascinating characters, intelligent enemies and complex moral choices that define the foundation of the game’s world. With its rich story, meticulous attention to visual detail, tense action and infinite replay value, BioShock delivers the perfect blend of storytelling and first-person action.
Barely surviving a plane crash, the player lands in icy uncharted waters and discovers the undersea city of Rapture, a failed utopia whose citizens had embraced genetic engineering before descending into pure anarchy. Power and greed have run amok and the city has succumbed to civil war. To survive, gamers must turn everything they find into a weapon, use their powers of observation to piece together what happened and make the difficult decisions necessary in order to escape a paradise gone badly wrong.
Fans have embraced BioShock’s mysterious world filled with powerful technology and creative gameplay. BioShock is also renowned for its rich visual detail depicting a gorgeous Art Deco world set deep beneath the sea.
“The look and feel of BioShock is breathtaking,” said Feral Interactive’s David Stephen. “Combined with the remarkable depth and sophistication of the storyline, as well as the pure adrenaline rush of playing, BioShock will set new benchmarks for Mac gaming.”
BioShock will retail in North America for US $49.95, £34.99 (inc. VAT) in the UK and €39.95 (inc. VAT) throughout Europe. Minimum system requirements for BioShock include a 1.8 GHz Intel Mac, 1.5 GB RAM, 128 MB graphics card, DVD drive, 8 GB of hard disk space and Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later. The game does not support Intel GMA integrated video chipsets, but does run on the latest generation of MacBooks and Mac Minis. Electronic Theatre will keep you updated with all the latest details on the BioShock franchise. |

do they really think anyones going to buy it now? I mean it'd be cool if they started supporting mac's again like they used to back in the old days ( games are games, who cares for what platform )
but seriously, everyone and their mother has either played it already or already own it on some other platform

A pretty strange decision ... maybe it'll lead to another patch for the PC version ? Or some gold edition shiznit in preparation for Bioshock 2 ?

It'sa smart move. Macs have like 4 games. Adding a AAA title to the lineup will ensure decent sales and garner some marketing for BioShock2.

Well, it's one of my favorite games, so I thought maybe someone else (who doesn't own it yet), might actually be interested.
