|
 |
I have a modded 360. Had it since launch in Denmark. Its been working fine until yesterday when I for the first time unhooked my 360 and brought it to a friend's house. there it started making some weird and kinda loud noises, and it had problems booting back ups. It seemed like it was loading a lot slower when it finally did boot after a few restarts.
As stated, I get no ring of death. But the 360 is louder than normally, today it wont boot back ups at all, and it seems to have problems by booting up original games. I tried clearing the cache, which didnt do anything. Demos load up perfect.
Assassins creed back up will boot, but when it starts loading the game save, I get a message saying I need to clean my disc (I know for sure theres nothing wrong with the disc)
Does anyone know whats up? A friend of mine promised me to open it up on monday to see if anything got loose inside when I brought it to my friend's house. Plus I'll ask him to try putting on a new firmware if that doesnt help.
Do you think any of that could make my xbox work again? If not, do you have ANY solutions? Its a sad day for humanity

I'm guessing that your drive is failing.

everything is back to normal now, except AC disc error.

Thanks for your answers everyone. I know this guy who wants to buy my 360 for cheap so he can mess around with it, so I think I'll do that and buy a new one with HDMI in it.. So I'm getting a new firmware as well, and I might get one of those stealth ones.. I hear they only read games that's stealth patched, so I was wondering how often the new games you "get" are already stealth patched?

for real, that's it? Do I need to put my original firmware on the 360 before I put a whole new firmware on it? Or can I just put a new one on right away?

I'll bet my money on a failing laser not the whole drive. It happened to me and a new laser off ebay fixed it completely.

I used to have this problem as well. Is your drive a Samsung MS25?
iXtreme firmwares are all MS28 by default. So when you flash your drive, it spoofs it into an MS28. This is what caused my problems. Get Firmware Toolbox and then spoof all your firmwares to MS25 and all the problems should be completely gone.
Or if you have some other drive, spoof the firmware to whatever your drive is using FWTB. After loading the firmware into FWTB goto tools and then "spoof firmware" and choose whatever fw your drive originally had. If it's not spoofed it tends to have some issues sometimes. Like mine had serious loading problems and sound isues. Horrible sqeaking noises used to occur.
