havent had a chance to try this game out yet, but... it seems (if I am remembering correctly) in the old Speedball games, you could upgrade the guys on your team and what not. Does this one work the same way?

Yeah, and there used to be possible to buy new players, and as the game progressed they got better stats and you climbed in the leagues. =/
I also think fisk should be unbanned.

you can still buy new players and upgrade states and climb in the leagues lol
this game is tons of fun, scenario: i threw the ball in, goalie caught it, punched him in the face, picked it up, and then walked it in haha

I just put on the most recent vid card drivers and it's still FUBAR'd.

I don't know what the hell is wrong with this game, it worked fine for one match, now whenever I try and punch the other player (LMB) it swaps to a different team member.
Anyone else notice this?

about the game controls,there is a button that let you switch between classic mode (like the amiga game) and advance mode (jumps,sprints,etc)
maybe you just switch to to classic
