ugh i really just cant get interested enough in ANYTHING in this movie to even download it, let alone watch it... a fantasy romance... blech... wha tis it, 90 minutes of zero action i take it... all fantasy films need sword fighting and orcs... im pretty sure its a written rule somewhere...

i dunno, this film just makes me sick... not because i think its a shite film, but i dunno... i think perhaps its just a frustrated feeling... that heres a good sized budget fantasy film, but its been taken over by the freakin romance genre, which basically kills all the promise for the kinds of things id like to see in fantasy films - epic journey, good vs evil, etc... im sure those are all there, but from the trailer it looks like all those things are watered down to make way for whats basically a love story, which could just as happily have been made without the fantasy element...

yeah... frustrated is what im feeling whenever i see the movies name Sad

Written by Neil Gaiman though, one of the world's best adult graphic novel writers, responsible for the sandman series of books which are simply incredible.

and let's not forget, the Star Wars films are good vs evil, guy gets the girl, sword fighting, kill the monster, romance films.

Quite an impressive cast, but why does everything in the mainstream fantasy genre need to be suitable for all ages? This could have been a phenomenally good movie but as it is right now it just looks very mediocre imo.
Is it just because they want to squeeze as much money out of it as possible by trying to appeal to a very broad audience? I honestly don't know but whatever it is it takes something away from the movie's worth as far as I'm concerned.

star wars was not a romance film. wanting to rescue and bam the chick is a PART of it, sure, but it wasnt the focus....

Depends, which Star wars movie are we talking about?

cuz the last one empathized rather heavily on romance.

nah he said star wars, which is either the first or one of the trilogy...

if he ment the 'nu episodes' then he should have specified by adding 'shitty' infront Wink yeah ok those had more romance, especially the second one, but i still wouldnt say it was a romance film. it was a sci-fi with romance in it - where as in relation to this film, this one is a romance film, set to a fantasy theme, correct?

Stardust? Sounds like some silly little musical. Rolling Eyes Like that Nevernding Story crap or that 'fantasy' movie with tom cruise. I can picture the lead actress in a field with flowers in her hair and the prince or whatever wearing one of those princely shirts with the frilly cuffs. I think chiv put it quite nicely.

A refreshing movie. Love the dark humour.

It does have a shitty title but I try not to let that get in the way of my movie watching.
