8.5 on Gamespot (i usualy agree with their reviews unlike IGN and some others that seems to be run by 14 year olds).

I'm glad its released on Xbox first and (probably) PC in perhaps a year or two..The devs often listen to the complaints in reviews and fix them up for the PC release. Like Jade Empire for example.. Seems like a great game but with some (minor) problems.

4.5 hours in and I've just gotten on board the normandy after completing all asignments at the citadel. It's a great story, really keeps you going. I like the combat though I prefered the kotor style. This game is a good action/rpg with an engaging story. 8.5/10

Even if I wanted to buy it (and by any means: I DON'T!!!)...
It's not yet available in stores here... so... I said it once and I say it again:

if it gets too easy why not just change the difficulty?

but it's really just how it should be. if you spend a lot of time developing your character then you should be able to become a badass.

Been a while since i been suprised by a game. Too bad its a trilogy, since it will probably reach 100% ownage status after 3 parts, anyway this game stands on its own. Very good, BioWare quality, very addictive and an honest game to dive work.

Ive barely played this game but its high on my play at Christmas list! So if its a trilogy does it end on a killer cliffhanger that we have to wait several years for a conclusion? Halo2 anyone? Razz

No replies with spoilers please! A simple yes or no will suffice Smile

It's a good closure while still leaving something big open for the next game, but trust me, it's a great fitting end that definitely satisfies, but it's also obvious that there'll be another game that continues the story.

seriously.. this game is almost perfect and any score below 90% is a farce!

Ok, I did some side quests, now I arrived at Novario (Well the planet where the Matriarch is). Is it me, or does all the guns looks alike, except for the colors??? I havent see a new model for the assault rifle, for exemple. Is it like this through the whole game?

it's normal, but I only saw it maybe 10-20 times throughout the whole game. I guess it depends on how fast you run through some areas. if you take your time the game has more time to stream the data. if you run directly from one area to the next then the streaming can't keep up and it will give you the loading thing.

slight differences, but no totally different models.
it's an RPG, the weapon models really aren't important at all.

Actually later in the game weapons do look different... I just picked up a nice looking shotgun and a kick ass pistol.

play it again!

I usually don't play through RPGs twice but if you play a different character, make different decisions and go more on the renegade/paragon side (whichever you didnt do the first time) then it becomes a totally different experience.

Even if you don't do all the side quests again, it's cool to experience the changes in the main quests if you make different decisions.

I'm on my second playthrough now and it's just as much fun as it was the first time.

There are also different endings so it's really worth playing through again.

You will!
I'm a big Kotor fan, and I think Mass Effect is even better! It's just so much more cinematic..

I do miss the lightsaber combat though :-)

Your taste concerning games seems to be similar to mine (silent hunter, world in conflict, kotor!) so you should like this just as much as I do, and I think it's one of the best games I've ever played.. and I've played a lot of em :P
