Disappointed. Wouldn't have been a good episode, let alone a 1:30hrs movie. Hopefully, the next ones are better.

I was a bit dissapointed too... Only due to the lack of good comedy...
Comedy - 6/10
Story Complexity - 9/10
Overall - 8/10
Insulting Family Guy - minus 1 point
TOTAL 7/10

i think the reason people find it not so funny is for two reasons. one: it tries to tell a full and interesting (and to some degree, complex) story, which doesnt leave as much room for laughs, and also two: it only seems less funny in comparison to an episode... you only need a handful of jokes in a 20 minute episode for it to feel like its nonstop humor... here you have a 90 minute film - its hard to fill it full of jokes to make it feel like a funny episode, when your trying to actually tell a story..

I've seen the first half of the film and I have to say big disappointment. Quality is great, writing is not bad (per se) but it's just not funny and seems fractured and less like a movie but a badly constructed episode. I haven't seen it all, I admit - and it's not fair to judge on account of what I have seen - but I hope it gets better.
The only parts I've laughed at have been in regards to sexual references as well which isn't a good sign for a Futurama episode.

I havent bothered too see the whole movie yet (like 3/4 of it) but so far pretty disapointing (me being a huge fan of the series, i've probably watched the episodes at least 4 times each).
Making movies out of series is almost never a good thing, i didnt like the South Park movie that much either (ok, "Uncle Fucker" was pretty funny but..), i tried to watch the Family Guy movie but it bored me to death..
Lets hope the next movies are much better but i'm not holding my breath..

Hm.. if you call yourself futurama-fans you can't complain about this film. The film had everything I could expect as a futurama-junkie. I think it's a film for the fans, it explains a lot happened in the series (i.e. the dog) and had a lot futurama 'internal' jokes and not that much 'social-critic' that you would expect from a short episode.
But it is ok the way it is. After this log time with no futurama I was excited to hear new things about the show (new characters, facts ...) and don't only want 'the same procedure as every time'.
So in my opinion it couldn't have been better: 10/10

If you cant seperate a good episode from a bad episode/movie of a serie you're not a real fan imo, you're just a fanboy/idiot who'd buy a turd if it had futurama sticker stuck on it. that's not what being a fan is all about.
I'll give it 6.5/10. didnt like the direction at all, and like Ispep said, it felt too "fractured", the jokes were few and/or mostly just lame. The references to the episodes were cool but that's about it.

i liked it, but would have loved it more, if they had left out the singing. It s not fucking disney.
Else it was a mixed bag of great comedy and not so great comedy. Perhaps in a three-episodes format i would have liked it better. Still a triumphant return to the screen with lots of great jokes and decently developed story, alot of fan-service and some really great animations.
I ll refrain from giving it a number-rating, but i definitly want to see more =)

I liked it, but it wasn't awesome wicked like most of the episodes were. The animation was great, all the characters were there and most elements of all epiodes MIXED TOGETHER. I think that was the main problem. There was a Leela romance, a Fry romance, a Hermise plot, Bender stealing, the scammers, a space battle and all over everything the huge time paradoxon which made my head hurt by the end. The songs didn't help either, they were dull compared to the one where Bender is in Robot Hell, they should have rather kept them out.
While I did enjoy it a lot and hope they will bring back the series based on the dvd sales it still lacked behind most episodes.

south park film is the best cartoon series to film translation, so youre wrong there. imdb agrees with me.
benders score was mildly entertaining but not even in the same league.

LOVED IT
True it wasn't all laughter like most futurama episodes, but the ingenious story makes up for it. All the references to the series: the pennucci dog, his nephew stephen fry & the clover, santa, nibblonians, leela's parents, god etc.. everything and everybody was there.
One negative comment: not enough captain Zapp Branigan
Bender's last words: "We're boned!"

Most series have over 9 on IMDB, does that mean most series are that good? Of course not. IMDB sucks because there are far too many fanboys giving 10/10 to their favorite serie or their favorite serie-to-movie-translation.

people voted 9 for that film because of fandom and because the word 'fuck' was in it... surely we all know how the minds of people who love that show, work...
and to be honest, i thought it was way funnier when they bleeped the swear words.

+1. it's way more effective to bleep out the swearing, i think it makes it even more crude.

your talking crap, the story is one of the best storys of all episodes. if you like complaining, go ahead, but I dont think you know the series very well or liked it much, but thats not the problem of the movie.
I think Druqsr said everything.

notice how the film was all about the impossibility of a sustained paradox, yet the entire film itself is a paradox to begin with?
i wonder if it'll be answered in the next film, that'd make a cool continuing thread wouldnt it?
also... anyone catch r2d2 in the stolen loot?
