theyve known for years.. its just in place for the sake of it now, they know the game will be cracked sooner or later (sooner in crysis's case) once the first day of sale is over they dont give a crap, theyve made day #1 sales. As long as protection holds out for the 0day, it has done its job.

as far as i remember none of the previous UTs had any protection, it all gonna be so easy, with the future patchs 'n mods and so on Razz

You remember wrong. All of them had protection in the beginning and was later removed by patch.

Soooooooo....can you play online or not? I heard login/pass from the demo still works with full version, at least it was so with german release.
Oh well the game is just 12$ here so i'll probably just go and buy it anyway

If you have a GERMAN UT3 you can have it be just the same as the USA one this includes language and blood fixes,

Once done you have gibbs/blood and English speech/text/menus

I played the demo. Was able to play via LAN and it feels more like the original UT and UT 2k4 which for me in this case is thank fucking god as I hated UT 2k4. The game runs fucking smooth as a bald girls box Smile hah yeah you like that dont you.

The AVENGED release has a disc label 'UT3_RC7'. Is this really the final retail? Can somebody enlighten me (calm me down Razz) that this is the real deal?

Protection : None
Disk label : UT3_RC7 (Release Candidate 7)
hmmm.... the same thing happened with Prey first they releases a full working beta then the original retail

This game doesnt even compare to GoW. I've had no probs with gow and gfx looked alot better. Can't believe this is the same engine. The gfx in this game (textures primarily) make the game look like total shit. It looks like quake3 gfx, and I have all gfx settings turned up plus 8xAA. Not to mention I couldn't even change the resolution, the screen would go black, kept hitting up arrow and enter key to accept changes and finally worked. Then when I go to exit the game, screen went black and had to do hard reset, couldnt get back to windows.

Midway is the publisher, so they have the final word, exactly like 2K had the final word with BioShock. So Midway did good.

It's Unreal Tournament, what do you think? It's some sort of story telling that strings together a certain amount of botmatches... Kinda what Quake 3 had but with a cutscene now and then Smile.

All I've got to say is: I'm surely no UT99 or UT2K3/4 junkie.. I just start this game, and I'm impressed by how it runs and feels... and looks! Saying GOW is plain better is just... no, I just can't seem where they get that? But my settings are at maximum, maybe that makes a lot of difference. For me it shouldn't run any slower so I'm glad with the speed and feel, so if it also looks nice doing it, perfect!

And whoever was expecting a proper storyline and singleplayer campaign in normal maps as if it was Unreal 3, then read the announcement again because it clearly stated that it was going to be botmaches like it is now in the game.

i've played about 5 maps of the single player. Well, overall it feels nice Smile from the demo i knew what to expect soo..

so i just gonna say the things that bother me so far:
-the graphics ...i got the feeling that it was looking better in the demo, not to mention the lack of some advanced options and AA. And no way these textures to look 50% better than the demo ones (?)
- i was expecting the customization character options to be more deep, or at least to have more than about 12 chars to tweak- i hope there will be more to unlock later..
- no Facing Worlds (a.k.a Faces) CTF map? blasphemy...

I don't know about anyone else but my AVENGED copy works fine online, hah! Apparently the cd key feature is useless maybe? I dunno...
