very eager to play this game, know that i have it i cant save in game or start in desired checkpoint. so my question is, is there a workaround this glitch or a link with saved checkpoints cause i aint loging into windows live for this stupid process anyone out there knows how to get a hand on those checkpoints or other simple aproach please let me know.

Ok, here is the fix if you lost your save game:
- Got to: Program Files\Microsoft Games\Gears of War\WarGame\Checkpoints (HINT- that "Chekpoint" directory should be full with around 35 chekpoints)
- Find the part where you were before the game screwed you over (hint, open up the .sav files in notepad, youll see sp_*map name*, that should give you an idea of what checkpoint it is)
- Copy that file somewhere else
- Change the name of the chapter file you believe is where you last left off to "chapter0.sav"
- Put "chapter0.sav" in My Documents\Gears of War\WarGame\Checkpoints (I don't have the game anymore so I'm not sure HINT- that "Chekpoint" directory should be empty) so the file doesn't go where you installed the game but in "My documents"
- Start the game, select "load chapter" and the first chapter in section 1, the game will load the place where the chapter you renamed is at instead of inside the prison.
And here is the backup fix if you didn't lose your savegame but are afraid you will, you need to be able to see hidden files and folders:
User"\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\XLive\Content\"
In the Content folder keep clicking the folders with random numbers and letters, in the last folder there will be a file called 4D530842.gpd, that is your saved game.

The new hamachi fix ain't working for me, although Live doesn't start up anymore and in have Player1 as name, i cant see any game that my friend hosts.
Whe were able to see each other with the regedit line making GOW use hamachi as network, but that leaded to connection lost. But now whe cant even see the hosted games.

Just finished the game tonight. Enjoyed it for what it was (console game). I had zero issues throughout, not a single crash or bug that I noticed playing at max settings in vista 32bit. All in all my experience was very good with this game, it sucks that a lot of people seem to be having problems.

Ugh, the editor is so unstable! I try to open some packages, boom, it crashes. I try to open some previous maps of mine, bam, it crashes. Can't do shit without fear of crashing...

Is there any proper save game fix? Was practicly thru the game and it deleted my saves (again), also deleted my bros saves, hes on XP and has NO internet connection

Weird, i just installed the RAZOR release, copied the crack and played, only had 1 crash and it never deleted my save games. I played on Vista64 btw.
I finished the game today, it wasnt all that bad, i had some fun with it.
