nevermind already discover:
You must set con_restricted=0 to get out of restricted mode before most commands will work in the console; only 12 cvars work when restricted mode is enabled.

Hey all.

I´m running Crysis on a Pentium D 820 2.6 @ 3,4Ghz with a 8800 Gts (356Mb) and 1Gb ram, Winxp Sp2.

And i´m having random crashes without seemingly any reason for them. Sometimes I get a bluescreen and my system reboots automaticly and sometimes the game just crashes to desktop.

Though at first it was my Gfcard getting to warm but it never gets hotter than 65 degrees and my CPU never more than 55 degrees (watercooling)

So if anybody has any idea what is causing this please help, it´s quite frustrating Sad

Ohh....and im running the latest 169.09 drivers.

Cheers!

even if you re running cool enough, the reason might still be overclocking. Some components just work unrealiable at overclocked settings and you might have gone higher than your stability threshold. Try stresstesting your system with those settings for stability first before trying to run such a performance-hungry game. A good combination is running a CPU-burn-in-tool like Prime95 together with a gfx benchmark like aquamark or 3dmark06, so your system will be really sweating to get the job done. If it crashes than, your system aint stable.

Well, I have been running my CPU overclocked for over a year now without any problem what so ever, all and any games. Only Crysis crashes like this, and the strange of it all is that it´s really random. But i´ll give it a try running my CPU at stockspeed...

I Dont even have time reading them, them system reboots itself a second after the bluescreen apears. Odd though id that it only appears and reboots the system sometimes, other times it simply dumps me to the desktop Sad

Have you tried NFSPROS?

well, disable reboot-upon-bluescreen then. It s in the system-settings somewhere.

Hi there, I was running the game fine (unfortunately at low resolution and medium settings) without any graphical glitches except some texture flickering probably due to SLI (like in other games). But now upon entering the snow level the textures all messed up,. no idea why but it's ugly and I don't want to play like that!

I have a Core2Duo and a GeForce 7950GX2, with no custom console graphical tweak. I have 169.09 drivers.

screen is normally cause by hardware failure. run memtest on your memory.

When I install this game on XP, I get an error "can't add the game to the windows game explorer. do you want to continue with installation?"

I select yes and when I try and start the game I get an error. From what I've read, game explorer is only in Vista....is that correct? And if so, why is this game trying to install to the game explorer?

Just wondering If I can get a quick hand.

Sys specs:

Intel Core2 Duo@2.4ghz stock
Geforce GTX 560Ti
6GB DDR2

I'll leave it there.

To be frank, Crysis runs like shit. I went back to nVidia after being so annoyed at flakey ATi performance with my fav games, and i'm saddened to see this card struggling to run Crysis better than my old 4870.

In comparison, I can run Crysis Warhead at Enthusiast, butter smooth and it plays amazingly.

Crysis just seems to run choppy. Sub 20 frames, doesn't seem to be any motion blurring or tearing (with vsync off) and the whole experience just doesn't seem right. When I had an 8800GTX, Warhead brought my PC back to reality after giving Crysis a fair run, but this much newer card just cannot run it well at all.

Going to try a fresh install w/o cracks and see if that is the issue, but it's behaving damn strange. It really should finally provide me with a great Crysis experience right about now.

You can make Crysis look as shitty as Warhead and it will perform better. Also try using different cracked 1.2.1 exes.

Yeah, i was thinking it might be a bad exe. I'm going to reinstall, reinstall the patches and see what the outcome is.

Thanks for helping so far.

Let me know if you find a solution. I have nearly the same setup as you and I deleted the game in frustration yesterday.

My specs:

Q6600 @2,9 Ghz
GTX560TI
4GB DDR2 Ram
Win7 64 bit Ultimate

I ran the game in DX10 mode (64bit) Used crack on my legal copy as I couldn't get 64 bit mode running stable on my steam version Sad

I know, our cpu's aren't exactly new but! Yesterday I tried several in game settings and I couldn't even get decent performance when running at medium settings! THAT is disappointing. I mean, Crysis 1 at medium looks like shit and I still only get an average frame rate of 35! dipping into the 10's when a lot of stuff happens.

I gave up, but something must be wrong, as I completed the game on my old GTS8800 with a mix of high and medium settings (looking better than this shit and running smooth). It's like the game isn't utilizing my new GPU. Sad

Steam? Try Razor's version. Steam uses custom shit probably so it may not be compatible with standard cracks. Try Razor+1.2patch+1.2crack, then if it doesnt try Razor+1.2.1patch+1.2.1crack. Dont forget to backup orig exes.

Already did, forgot to add that I get the same performance with the disc based version with 1.2.1 patch and scene crack.

okay, definitely got better performance

installed my retail copy
official 1.2 patch
official 1.2.1 patch (game now at 1.1.1.6156

Got 1.2 NODVD (pheonix) from gamecopyworld (1.2.1 doesn't change crysis64.exe, so the 64 bit crack from 1.2 works (for your record, when you execute the patch, it just assumes you have crysis in the default directory, so just grab the executable out of bin64 in your program files (32bit)/electronic arts/crysis directory

And it definitely runs smoother. Need to defrag because of loading skips, but on the whole it's much much smoother.

I'm also on win7 64. Don't forget you still need to run the shortcut in compatibility mode for Vista Service Pack 2 or it won't work at all.
