ya bios will show 4 but you'll need a 64bit operating system to use all four. If your using vista at that, use the 64bit one. Uses your dual core a lot better and all 4 gigs of memory. I hate vista but I will admit, the 64bit one was amazingly fast.

m..installed it yesterday and played for a while on xp all on high +aax2 1024x768, and what can i say..the graphic around is very nice, the best banana tree's ever shown on pc game;) and all the around is nice, but i am kinda disapointed from the gameplay:/
i enjoyed timeshift and cod4 mutch more then this one..it feels like i am testing new graphic engine and play around with the enviroment more then really playing a game, but...probably i am the onlyone with this opinion so..don't kill me lol..but that's what i am getting of it till now.

btw i am at the end of the mission where the archiologist is reaporting to the korean general about the fossil inside round building (it's a cut scene).
and i must say that i loved the big explosion's a specialy the gas station one Very Happy

What's with the Prophet anyway. The Man seems to be some power-ranger kind of guy.
Only one to survive the hunter; then he makes some sort of ice cannon and on top of that survives a goddamn nuclear explosion.

Crysis makes the same mistake with the monsters as Far Cry imo, as far as I have played anyway.

Yes, graphics are beautiful and that alone makes it worth playing. Gameplay rocks until you enter the mine; while it still looks beautiful, the gameplay becomes totally linear and crap, like when you hit the monster stages in Far Cry. I dunno what's after the alien structure, so I cannot tell if it becomes any better after this point. I am still trying to find the way out of this place.

I don't think it's the cpu except if your processor is really weak. Today's hardware don't perform too different between 800x600 and 1280x1024. They do perform different when you move to 1600x1200 and over.

CPU has never had much effect on how graphic intensive games ran. That's all really dependent on your card. What are you running? I got an X2 4400 and 7900GS KO and im running it on medium (shadows and water on low) and I get around 40FPS

Killed the two tanks after you find that korean chick in the beginning and every korean within a mile radius and the game still won't continue. What are you supposed to do after that? The two just stay in the building looking into each others eyes and I have no objective

c2d 2.37ghz (2140 oced)
2gb ram
x1950gt oced http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/mzz63/
winxp sp2

using the benchmark and the past 2 hours of my life ive determined the best setting for me would be.

everything medium, cept shaders, textures, music, volumetric to high. forced 6xAF in drivers. if you use the AA in game it conflicts with HDR and you get 0.8 fps. at least with my card you do. using these settings the game looks good. and runs above 20 fps in 1280, but im prolly gonna go to 1024 if its too choppy.

Bug, you need to reload. That is if nothing happens when you destroy the tanks.

I got a problem at the carrier where I am suppose to destroy the Robot/alien ship.. Helena tells me to use the tac gun to lock on the cannons .. but all I get is "no target locked" I have tried to left click on the mouse, right clicked, pressed every damn button on the keyboard but nothing happens.. is that a bug? because I have seen lots of bugs in the game so far.. and last night when I played I got nuts because of Helena that only are telling me to use the damn tec gun and its a domus sign where the ammo are suppose to be so it seems to be unlimited ammo

I finished playing through the game and I experienced only one single crash to desktop, but no bugs otherwise. All you need to do is to hold the sight over the big cannons and it will lock. Then fire your gun.

Just to add to my comment above about the mistakes with Far Cry. Thankfully the levels in the mine/inside the alien structure are rather short. When you get out of it and kick some alien ass, it's fun again. And the carrier level is fucking awesome. In summary a kickass game with only a couple of letdowns (mine/alien structure level as well as a boring last boss).

Spykez, are you running the 64bit version of Vista?, i have an X2 2.4gig, with 3 gig of ram, was just generally wondering if i would benefit from transferring to a 64bit O/S instead of Vista 32bit.

I can't use the final weapon. It always says target not locked. And the final boss doesn't die. I continue to use rocketlauncher against it but it doesn't die.

I feel retarded, but the alien ship segment is annoying the hell out of me. Nothing I hate more than when the character you're playing states that he knows exactly what you should do, but you can't for the life of you figure out what he means.
