Just like any other FPS that's come out this year with an alien theme. |
Well, it's not scalable. I can enjoy rocking graphics in many other games, but not Crysis.

So is RLDed working and is it true that it is abt 6gb? I cant afford 10gb for such a game cause i read a lot of negative things abt it... both animation and optimization problems are reported...

but there is 115 x 50mb at the page of releases here. Is it a mistake? or? maybe the 10.5 gb iso of RLD is just an image of procyon+wrong exe from rld?

Ugh I would never ever play a Dutch game. I pirated Black & White back in 2000 because all shops sold only the Dutch version and I hated it - then when I finally bought it off ebay for $ 10 or so, I made a hybrid version, using the language files of the warez copy and the CD of the retail game.
If a game is made in English, it should stay in English. It's the same with movies - stupid French, Germans, Spanish, etc that dub all movies with the most retarded voice actors they could find. At least in Belgium programs have subtitles and only cartoons are dubbed for children - or can't the french, germans, etc read? Subtitles in games would be great for me too!

It appears that Reloaded's "crack" is the same size as the normal exe file, perhaps they packed the wrong file?
(Moved a few files and installed it, thankfully it's the clone so that trick with DTools 4.06 should still work.)

Will do.
Spoiler: | |
(All settings at max aside from AA, this secondary computer use the 7800GTX and it can't do HDR+AA.)
The enviroment is pretty destructible, similar to stranglehold but it's the same company and it looks pretty similar.
EDIT: The AI is decent but has a few faults, snuck up behind one of the guys in the towers and stood there for a while before I shot him, probably busy with my teammates shooting at him from below.

I'd imagine the 8800 can show how the game should really look if you crank up the AA and also force transparency AA or similar to get rid of all those jagged edges.

Oh, ok cheers. There is a Procyon version on the Unet that is only 4.5 gig or somet, that's why I asked, probably bogus or not properly upped yet. I am getting the RLD version anyway (2 discs)
Edit: DOH! my bad I only checked one file out of 2 (A,B)
But still smaller then 10+gigs...
I guess cause its packed

Aside from the somewhat stupid AI the game uses a checkpoint system and you can't save manually, died shortly after the last screenshot when I stormed the building and the previous checkpoint was quite a bit back, even went trough a loading zone albeit those are fairly quick though dying and being forced to replay large parts of the game won't be that fun, especially later in the game against tougher foes.
Weapons feel fairly powerful, especially as parts of the enviroment crumbles and is destroyed during heavy firefights and enemies usually die after a few hits (As do you albeit you regenerate after a while.), ofcourse headshots are instantly lethal albeit I've only encountered humans so far and the aliens should behave a bit differently from what I've read. (Headshots are still quite lethal.)
Your squad behaves OK and can handle most situations and in the event they get knocked out you just have to wait a while and they will get back up.
(They are also required for special movements such as breaching doors.)
There seems to be ammo scattered around the level, usually near checkpoints and I also noticed they flash now and then to draw your attention, not that realistic, especially as the float above the air. (They might even spin around but I don't think they did.)
I'm not far enough yet but it's a OK fps for now, might be different once the aliens appear though.
Oh and the story is progressed via dialogues and cutcsenes such as the event seen in the above screens with my character and teammates talking to each other, however the volume seems rather low and during heavy fighting it can be hard to hear what they say.
(Subtitles would help here.)
EDIT: Graphically it's the usual UE3 driven title, you've already seen similar visuals in Airborne, Stranglehold and ofcourse Gears of war and UT3.
(As well as the earlier titles like Vegas and Bioshock.)

I couldn't enable it but I doubt the game uses DX10 due to also being a console game and not really developed with any special features for the PC version.
It still has HDR though so if the card doesn't do HDR+AA you probably can't enable AA.
(ATI 1000 and 2000 serie and the NVIDIA 8000 serie.)

Yeah, there's a problem with lighting and UE3 in some games (MOHA, BA51, SH, lots of jaggies), while it's not present at all in others (BS, UT3, GOW, R6V).
