I would conclude the following: Generally spoken Torrents are lame and do not say anything about a Release being real or not. Specially: You even used public ones, didnt you? This Bugger is as real as it can get, get real sources or dont complain if something doesnt show up when it should.

And i would conclude the following: Peole who pay for warez are lame and go against everything the scene is about. Good enough?

Sadly, as of now everything you need to know can be grabbed from some wiki articles, so there is no need to tell you anything more about it. So take your trolling elsewhere and continue using your lame sources, as its offtopic anyway.

god.. stop the freakin torrent talk already, nobody cares.
I tried the game for a bit but I don't like it too much. It's not so bad, but just doesn't feel like sim city anymore. it's too much like those sim city clones which came out a few years ago which I didn't like at all.

Dude, are you fucking kidding me? You just claimed that SimCity "never sold very well in the US." Seriously, don the dunce cap, and go sit in the corner.
SimCity has sold millions in the US, and was one of the earlier games to get a lot of mainstream recognition and acclaim.

Sure it sold millions, but my point is it didn't sell enough millions for EA's expectations, so they dumbed the gameplay so much that it could be played by kiddies. Same happened with City Life, didn't sell very well in US, sold great in Europe.

Sim City 2000 was like the second best selling game ever by 1995. We're talking worldwide here. I don't get how you think it didn't sell enough - it was a massive hit. Yes it was more popular in Europe, but it sold massively here too. It was the best selling game for over a year in the UK EACH MONTH.

I'm talking about 3000 and (mostly) 4, not the old ones. We did have good games once, not consolized games to fit US console kiddies mentality.
And UK is not in US (as far as I know, I might be wrong though), and like I said, it sold very well in EU.

Sim City 3000 & 4 were not bad games but like most EA games, they suffered from exagerated production values that add nothing to the game and only kill the "feel" of the game by adding lots of bright colours.
That's why I mostly hate EA games - they lack soul. I think you can compare them to a "paint by numbers" painting while real good games are like Picassos, Da Vinci's, etc. Paintings with a story behind them, where the painter really wanted to bring accross a message. A paint-by-numbers painting is not badly looking but it has no depth, no story, and while it's not offensive to look at, it's hardly anything special, and that's how I feel about EA games these days.
The first two Sim City games had not yet had the boot of EA kicking it in a direction they wanted the games to go.

Meh, I still stick with Usenet - you pay a small sum each month but you can download everything within a day at tremendous speeds, and you don't have to worry about people seeding, or your ISP blocking torrents, or whatever. Fast, easy, cheap. Much better than spending an hour tracking down a torrent that works (with the risk of it being a fake still or in some demented foreign language) or scouring IRC for the right bot.

They lack soul because they target the lowest common denominator of audience to maximize revenue. While the first and second (and the third to some extent) Sim City games targeted thinking audience that had patience to perfect their city, the target audience now with SCS is monkeys that can't be bothered to think at all.
Anyway, my original post wasn't to go after US but a general rant on EA (and the gaming industry in general).

Installed - played 10 min - uninstalled.
As a SimCity4 fan I'm very dissapointed on how they fucked up this SimCity.

I'm fairly indifferent on it right now. I played it for maybe 1 or 2 hours. i'm certainly not impressed, I'm fairly let down, but I need to play it a tad more to decide. The next time I start it up though its going to have to offer me a blow job to save it.

This is supposed to be a social engineering simulator (similar to City Life) and not a city-building simulator like the previous SimCity games.
You guys really should read some background info on a game before you start bashing for not being something it was never intended to be in the first place.

whatever it is, it just isn't good. there's no game there; all you do is plop buildings down. there's no challenge, money is extremely easy to make no matter what you do. what's the point? there isn't one.
