"We're boring people to death and making games that are harder and harder to play," he said.
"For the most part, the industry has been rinse-and-repeat. There's been lots of product that looked like last year's product, that looked a lot like the year before."
This is from the article quoting the guy from EA. Personaly I dont think games have become easier. The games that are exclusive to pc are always more complex & interesting then all the ports we have been getting over the years. That might be why you get the illusion games are easier but there not. Look at Supreme Commander it's very micro managment in a 3d world wich is more complex then a 2d environment. anyway this game sim society looks cool.

Lol that's because most games include a fucking option to choose the difficulty lmao, GO EA YOU EFFIN RETARDS!!
I still love that article. Their the founders, supporters, and doing it everytimer's of the "Rinse and Repeat"...not anyone else, how many "The Sims" and expansion packs, how many "The Sims 2" and expansion packs, how many "Battlefields", how many Medal of Honors.

SpykeZ, I'll have to disagree in the examples you've chosen regarding Rinse and Repeat. For me, Rinse and Repeat is FIFA, NBA Live, NFL, NHL, Tiger Woods, with little to no new features being added with every installment. EA's Sports games. The Sims franchise actually worked out really good, as each expansion pack adds tons of new functionality to the game, expanding the game-world and things one can do. I wouldn't know about Battlefield or MoH, but I stand on what I believe for the others.

EBgames is claiming to have this in tomorrow where I am. I'm surprised things are so quiet about this. I think we've all got low expectations but I was expecting a little buzz

no really!?!?! woooooow.
I made the thread genius and your telling me who didn't do what? EA is the publisher meaning they have the final say in everything. the game has been chopped slashed and stupified into some sim's bullshit city building craptastic pile of junk

Even if EA is the publisher it doesn't mean they will chop, slash and stupify it.
EA published Battlefield 2, Hellgate: London, Crysis and all Valve products yet nothing has been chopped slashed and stupified.
The license to Sim City belongs to Maxis which belongs to EA. Each and every game that belongs to the Sims franchise gets an approval by Will Wright. Will Wright is doing Spore as freely as he wants.
If Will Wright doesn't like what you do with his franchise, he will tell you. If Sim City Societies is as it is it's because it's a good branching in the Sim City line of products.
Note to self: come up with a good sig.

You got will's dick in your ass right now? Unless you can point to somewhere in will's contract where it states he has the final say on all sims related stuff, its just speculative bullshit. EA does nothing but destroy stuff.

According to Eurogamer, this sucks.
And so it seems to do for me.
http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=87312
"Things aren't helped by the rather crude build interface, which bizarrely allows you to rotate items and buildings at 45 degree angles, even though you can only build roads in straight lines. Yep, that's right - we're back to the old right angled corners, with a jittery road placement tool that would have felt clumsy ten years ago."
enough.

I had a city with almost 3,000 inhabitants despite only having built accommodation for a few hundred. And yet apparently none were homeless. Weird. The same is true of jobs. Each workplace you build only offers a handful of jobs, yet the population seems to grow in leaps regardless of career opportunities. |
.....wow....kinda defeats the purpose of the game doesn't it?

They made SimCity for American kiddies... Dumb and pretty.
I guess City Life Deluxe will remain the best city simulator for the time being.

I'm quite a big fan of the series (even though most people think 2000 to be the best, I still like 4 the most).
So you can imagine how pessimistic I was ever since they announced this game and released the first pictures and features.
So after all this, I will download the game just to see just how dreadful it really is. Caesar4 was a POS compared to the old ones (heck, even CivCity had more "Rome" feel to it and better gameplay than Caesar4 ever had). Maybe Tilted Mill should disassemble, send the coders to the Spore team and the designers to the Toilet-cleaning division.

Seeing today's games, I think it's safe to say that 1.6GB is way too small to be a real release. Plus everywhere I checked it's either a 0 seed, or only one seed.
A proper torrent would be sufficiently seeded. I think it's fake (hope I'll be proven wrong).

1) It's real
2) Just cause you use torrents as your source, im going to laugh and never show you respect and if you used a proper torrent site you'd know it has close to 400 seeders.
3) It's a sims game. Games now days use high resolution models as well as terrain textures and are much bigger games so yes their going to be huge. This one only has a few shitty reused skins and that's it.

I think it looks interesting enough to check it out.
It probably sucks, but I'll give it a try.

I used torrent harvester which searches on 80something pages. Only found 5-6 torrents, and only one of them had a single seed, the rest were on 0. What would you conclude from that?
