You've gotta be kidding, right? I thought the Singleplayer-Campaign contains actually ... a real Singerplayer-Campaign, and no Singleplayer-Botmatches-wrapped-up-in-a-cheap-story-bullshit.

This is UNREAL TOURNAMENT III, not unreal 3, unless you have never played UT before, you should know that matches are always against bots.

no they have actually developed a full blown story single player game yes it revolves around tournament play still but it is a single player story. many reviews have confirmed this as well. Any how aint any single player game against bots of some kind anyway, ie AI enemies

yes, every single player game is against AI, but this is really just multiplayer matches with bots. it's like playing half-life but the single player campaign is just a deathmatch against bots.
I really was hoping that this would actually have some real single player content.
The video of the story mode was very promising and I thought it'd be similar to gears of war (but as an FPS of course).

No offense like but its called Unreal Tournament 3 not Unreal 3 their have been previous iterations of both so how is it people still thought this would have a "real" single player? Also in fairness the bots are good to play against.

well, single-player campaign isnt just a buzz-word that gamers want to have added to the games attributes list, we actually want to experience one too. And if a company makes our mouth water with such advertisement gems, we do indeed salivate. Not delivering on such promises is taking the spit.
sure, previous iterations of the ut franchise also had a kind of SP-campaign in bot-match style, but me thinks that everybody just deeply wanted that original unreal feeling back, that started it all. If you dont understand that primal longing of a gamer's soul, you werent around, when unreal originally was released upon the unsuspecting masses of soon to be flabbergasted gamers worldwide  |

that's it exactly. I never expected UT3 to have a real single player mode until they showed that awesome trailer. They didn't actually tell anyone what it would be like. And now it turns out it's really just multiplayer against bots and only thing that changed is the story behind it.
It's not like it makes the game bad, I'm just disappointed.

The demo had all the options though.
I am assuming that is where the screen of the full set of options is coming from (demo) as there is nothing else to compare it to untill we get full US in several days (or earlier of course--hope hope).
Unrelated but I freeze in SP and get loop like old days U2. It happens as soon as I see the vehicle splash (VERY start)
Quickmatch and all is fine for hours.

well i wrote the same thing earlier...couldn't watch it, so i' think i'm missing some good stuff...now i'm in act III and the cutscene freezes there too (i don't know how i got by the act II cs, but whatever), I like have to skip every damn cutscene here...oh and that demo exe theory got me thinking, because there wasn't any crack with the release, and it doesn't need a mounted image to work...so it's weird...and i don't think epic would release such an anticipated product with such flaws (graphics, menu, cutscene errors), it's either that, or this german release is totally fucked up, hope, i mean REALLY hope that the final release will be better (and i've got an inner feeling that it will hold some surprises  )
