I can run the game without any probs...on Medium. But, with my rig, I would hope I could play it at a higher level.
What tweaks, if any, would you recommend to make it look a little nicer?
My rig: Dual Core EE600, 2 gigs, 8800 GTX, vista 32 bit....

you can take out enemies silently relatively easily. you just have to make sure you are not in line of sight of other enemies who will get suspicious when they hear something and notice you more easily.
shooting them in the head with a silenced weapon will always be a one-hit kill.
if they got a helmet you can also take them down without alerting anyone else.
you simply need to fire two shots in quick succession. the first will shoot his helmet off and the second will take him down. even if you need more than two shots you might still be lucky and not alert anyone because enemies need a second or so to react and ready their weapons.
unless they start firing at you or someone else sees you, you'll be fine.

doesn't matter, just checked in jungle shooting on sand, same stupidity.
clocked my 2.67 core 2 duo to 3.0 ghz and crisis runs only a little smoother.
need second 8800 gtx i think to run it better 
hehe my vista score went from 5.4 to 5.7 with clock. rest all 5.9 |
what res are you running it at? |

The AI is indeed pretty stupid sometimes. What's up the boats constantly shooting you ? They shouldn't even be able to see you from that far (not always actually). You dive behind a house come out of the other doorway and they still spot you and stuff like that. Get out...

No way is that GOTY. They could have released it as "High Def Mod and Map Pack for FarCry" and no one would complain. Its a fantastic looking but indeed brainless action shooter. Does not have the class of a HL2EP2.

The only reason we all bought it is for cs source and the other mods.
CAll of duty 4 is by far GOTY

Well considering you just compared paradise city to GTA just prives your own ignorance. Let me guess, anything now days that allows you to jump in a car or run around a city is now going to be considered a GTA clone. Oh dude serious, I can shoot any enemy and steal any car I want, so..crysis is a GTA rip off too. I can pick up any gun that falls on the ground, crysis totally ripped it off of GTA.
. It's an 8 at most but that's it. IT's not the best thing ever, the engine is yes by far the best thing PC gaming has ever seen but theres nothing special about this game.
But wait, I forgot simple minded kids now days only need the ability to shoot down a tree to immediately jump out of his mom's womb to up and give it a 9 or 10, and if that all they need is gfx this and gfx that.
I'm not saying it's a bad game as I'm playing it now and I don't play shit, but to pretend it's remotely the best thing that pc gaming has ever seen is pure ridiculous.
I also didn't like HL2 and it was over rated, I have nothing against BF3 or anything in teh series since I even owned and loved 1942. So your grabbing a lot of assumptions of calling me a kid when your no better yourself.
And since you edited your post while I was typing, yes, COD4 is the best FPS we've gotten this year next to timeshift and maybe SOF 3 if it doesn't suck
Anywho, back to playing something that requires the slightest thought or use of my brain.

Grade A title my ass. Run it next gen and it runs like shit.
Run it playable and it looks like its from 2002.
Clipping issues galore, with AI dumb as dirt.
In summary...short, shitty, and overhyped.
