this is the email i got:
Just a quick email to let you know our suppliers have advised us today that the release date for Crysis Special Edition has changed from 16/11/2007 to 23/11/2007.
Please note that although the new date is looking solid at the current time, it is subject to change.
fucking scumbags... and i appreciate its not the stores fault... its EA prioritising... lets divert our stock to countries that will buy more...
fuck EA, i wont buy this game to show support for a good product anymore.
the only thing that matters now, is how good i think the multiplayer is... thats the only reason to buy the game now... i need to do some serious drinkin..uh, thinking...
will i get more fun out of crysis multiplayer, or should i get tf2 instead...

I suppose It depends on what store you pre-order from but having it delayed a week must feel like quite a letdown, but there's all sorts of release dates for this title.
The earliest release date I've seen so far for Crysis would have to be the US Amazon as they deliver it on the 13th though it depends a little on the country and the normal US release date is the 14th and the EU release date is the 15th - probably with some local differences depending on the country.

americans are cunts (in the nicest possible way:))
they dont ship games overseas generally... i live in nz.. our whole country got shafted.. australia's still expected for the 15th, but i really dont feel like paying an extra 10-20 bucks just to get the game on the 16th...

swweet... guess this teaches me AND the rest of you a good lesson
dont even try to buy shit, your just going to get fucked (yes im pretty fucking bitter right now... the one game i actually WANT to pay for and DO preorder, gets delayed by a week - maybe more - and gets released online almost a week early... )
fuck EA. fuck them up their stupid asses.
i cant believe im doing this, but
IM GIVING EA ANOTHER CHANCE!!
(notice how i used the colour violet, because EA are a bunch of fucking frilly shirt wearing sissys?)
started downloading crysis. those scumsucking pig fucking bastards have until the counter reaches 100% to have my copy in the mail, or i cancel my order. - currently they have 18 hours

Ya cant blame the seppos for this one. It would have been a local decision made in NZ because the retailers are whining about too many games being released at once stopping sales from being maximised. Of course the dumb shits may move Gears of War back to the 23rd in which case Crysis may not be released until December. The market is to small so the distribution is one big monopoly collusion.
The games have often been out in the stores for two weeks or more gathering dust. That's yer best bet persuade some DSE kid to ante up.

@ chiv if it shits you that much make sure you let gingaballs Goff know, cause this shit has been getting worse since parallel importing on software was made illegal by him. When shops could bring in their own games cause the NZ distributors were too lazy and fat to do it on time these guys never let the release dates slip.

the good thing is. When you finally get the game, there will be a patch to get all the problems ironed out that have been found in the pirate beta-testing

yeah, but it's bugged to hell. Plus it's heavier than xp, I tested this on several machines, and despite the fact that xp is newer it's faster.

this must be one of those investment games, you pay money for it now and get to play it later after your billion dollar computer comes out of layaway 5 years from now.
GG crytek for making such a hardware whore of a game.

er you do realise windows xp is just win2k underneath the hood with a few ui improvements and mods to make it more user friendly?
anyway other games i know for a fact have win2k fixes are supreme commander ,tiberium wars and bioshock (i thik ati did one to though for bioshock?)
no doubt there are others i have never looked for, i think the only game that truly needed something from directx that isnt available in win2k was company of heroes
