Well after playing it briefly this morning before passing out, it seems like a cross between pokemon, animal crossing, and harvest moon. You have a garden and you use tools to make it nice and that attracts pinatas to your garden and not really sure what happens after that yet.

Well I am really enjoying the game so far. Just wish some frogs would visit for my snakes to eat because I want more snakes. I spent all my money on a snake house and didn't bother to look up what it takes for them to mate, oops. Now I am broke.

Has anyone been able to get around the not-being-able-to-save thing? It won't let me save if I don't have a Live profile, and it won't let me make a profile without a legit serial...

For me all I did was select create a new live account leave at default settings and login with it and then it let me create a profile and save. This is with the reloaded release.

But did you exit the game and then try to load? Because that was a problem in GOW... Sad

Damn i kept getting "Could not save" errors Sad
Had to scrap my garden and start over, i dunno if it was due to me trying to connect to Live! while it was saving or not, we'll see..

I played it alot on the 360 and i have to say, its a Bit uglier here, but its way way more easy to control with mouse and keyboard. Since its a point an click game.
It utterly sucks tough that you cant zoom out, how the hell are you supposed to select the sparrowmints to make them mate?! lol drives me nuts Smile
Must be some camera setting in a .ini or something, will check it out.

For those of you that didnt play the xbox version, it gets ALOT more fun and complicated when you reach lvl 10-15 and such..
You basically get hundreds of different seeds, banana trees that attract monkeys, crocodiles and water-plants, alot of cool stuff. And there are secret combinations of stuff you can feed your critters, for instance if you feed a whirlm some specific stuff their offspring might become a new variant.
Also there are uber rare offspring, like the two-headed syrupent etc Smile

Same applies for every single plant / seed in the game, fertilize it with the right fertilizers and it will grow to be HUGE. Its so fuckin cool that you can see it grow Very Happy
I love this game, its definetly NOT for kids when it gets really complicated, but in the beginning its a bit too soft with all the tutorial stuff and such Smile

I can STRONGLY recommend taking a look at http://pinataisland.info/viva/Site_Map
There you can see just how deep this game is Smile

I think you could zoom out a bit on the 360, but not far enough. But i dont remember it being as uber-zoomed in as here in the pc version =P
Edit: Page-Up and Page-Down zooms the camera in and out Very Happy Wohoo!

A tip for making easy early cash is to buy Thistle seeds (like 16 bucks each), they lower the value of your garden but when they are fully grown you can just break them up with your shovel and sell the Thisle Flowers for 60 bucks each Smile

This game is really perfect for when you sort of just want to relax and have some gentle fun (lol that sounds all wrong) Smile

If you get two Syrupents (snakes) to mate, and then bash the egg open right before its about to hatch (after the 2 big jumps), a two-headed snake will emerge Very Happy
Of course complete with its own house and needs etc.
PS: they look Really retarded when trying to move lol, both heads try to synch their "pushes" forward to drag their useless body around lmao Very Happy Very Happy

If you do the same when two two-headed snakes have mated, and smash their egg open after its FIRST big jump, you get a fourheaded snake Very Happy

I'm having a problem installing the game. Wink Right at the end of installation, the installer stops at the "Computing space requirements" stage. I've tried to install twice. Does anyone know that the problem could be?

I have downloaded a release, which is supposed to be from reloaded (Viva.Pinata-RELOADED). It unpacks fine, mounts, and starts installing without problems. But when I start installing from the second disc I get errors. Lots of errors.

"Error 1308. Source file not found: G:\program files\microsoft games\viva pinata\shaders\shaders.wad. Verify that the file exists and that you can acess it. "

Now, when I open my disc 2, I can actually find the file manually, but there is nothing to do. I have to abort the installation. It just won't install.

Anyway, inside the folders I found a vitality-nfo. So this means I've gotten hold of a wrong release, right? In the real one, the one you guys are using, there is only nfo from reloaded?

Im guessing I just have a bad release, but wanted to hear if anyone here could help me. Thanks in advance. Too bad if I have to download 7 gb again though!

Damn, i first thought the name of this game would be Pina Colada lol. Heck, i´ll give it a try. It looks cute. (darn, did i just say that?)

Edit: I´ve played it a bit, the Reloaded Release works fine. Almost everything in this game feels like being on drugs though lol, can´t help myself.

Seems like you downloaded from a bad source. As i said above it works without any problems here. (on XP SP2). Try to run an .sfv Check to ensure File Integrity.

Thank you for your answer. Does the release you're using have a vitality-NFO somewhere inside? I really don't understand my problem either, but in a comment on piratebay some guy had the exact same problem, with the same release, although it seemed to be working for everyone else. I really don't get it! Should I just try re-downloading it from, say, pirate bay?

Anyway, its not that I really need the game, but now that I can't get it to work, it's become a matter of principle: I must get it to work! So any help is appreciated =)

The error occours just after switching to dvd 2, and it apparently lacks some shader- and soundfiles. Strange indeed!

Yes it does have an vitality.nfo inside, but that has no serious meaning. It just means some of the traders, traded the wrong nfo with the release, so it got spread with the vitality.nfo in it. Do you have an .sfv File supplied with the release? Because if so you could run an file integrity check on the Rar Files. I dont know how Piratebay supplies the files though, i´m not into torrent. Do you directly download the .iso file?

If you want i can make two .sfv Files from my .iso Files, then upload the .sfv Checksum Files, so you can verify if our .iso Checksums match. (Google for "Quick SFV" and download it)

If they dont match, it means you got bad files. If they match, then something is wrong with your OS/Computer. It will take me until sometime tomorrow though, i dont have much time atm.

Thank you for your help. I've downloaded an .sfv checker, but it said all the files were valid. Damn, this is really getting strange. I guess my only option now is re-downloading the whole 7 gb (*sigh*), and pray.

Damn, I've never had problems with any releases like this one before. Strange indeed. Please continue to come with suggestions, if you have any. And again, thank you for taking the time to help me, with this strange problem.

Are you using Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or Vista? Because i know from the past there have been troubles with releases when SP2 hasnt been installed on XP. Also maybe try updating your Graphic Card Drivers. Really strange indeed.

Also updating Winrar might be worth a try too. Check if you have the latest version, if not download it and unpack the files again. It has caused some troubles in the past too.

XP with SP2. Will try updating the drivers, but I'm losing hope here. I read here on NFOrce that the vitality release had some wrong names for subfolders, which could possibly explain why the installer is unable to find important install files. Perhaps I somehow got a bad version, I don't really know anymore. Will update drivers, redownload if that doesn't work, and if the new version I'm downloading isn't working eiter, I'll just accept that I won't be trying this game. No big problem, it's not like it's Crysis or TF2, but I just wanted to try it.

Anyway, thank you for all the good suggestions. Perhaps this is just one of the great unsolved mysteries of the world... Rolling Eyes

Edit: oh updating winrar is also a good idea.. will do!
