Hi people.

I'm coming here for your honest opinion.

I made some time ago Youtube channel about game benchmarks of my PC hardware. I made it to learn something new ie. video editing and to collect my videos online (and to be rich youtuber Very Happy)
I'm using DaVinci Resolve (Free) and CapFrameX with RTSS for game overlay.
I use free apps and free effects. No ISOed games.

I'm asking you, beloved Humpers Very Happy, for your feedback about my channel. I appreciate all criticism.
What is shitty and what is not shitty?
What you want to be changed?
etc.

This post is also some sort of self-promotion so do not click on link if you do not want.

well you asked, im sorry.

i don't think there is a point in doing such content these days. there are so many smaller channels with fake benchmarks, they just let some video play and put an fake overlay on top, so no one can say for sure if a channel is legit or not. if i want to look for fps in a certain game for certain hardware this has to be quick, so i open up a video, jump to a certain point and then check the fps, after that i close the video. i don't want to waste my time, checking the comments or other videos to make sure this was a legit benchmark and not just a fake benchmark to get clicks and make money. so i go either to a well known big channel, or i just look it up on google so i don't waste my time.

last time i did use youtube and smaller channels for this, i wanted to look how fallout 4 will run on a certain laptop and all i could find were fake benchmarks, all of them.

your thumbnail doesn't scream click me, if that would be in my timeline i would never click on it and im not a 16 year tik tok user, so that should mean something, so those people will also not click on it.

i fucking hate intos and intro music, this is not 2012.
and yes it's just a benchmark, but im so done with videos (or streams) where people don't talk or don't show their face. you need to stick out somehow and nothing on your channel does that.

if you have fun doing this, keep on going but don't expect it to get big or something like that.

A couple of points you might want to consider:

30+ second intro is way too long and the information is all in the title anyway
Showing the AMD control panel is kinda useless, especially since half of those settings don't do anything in modern titles
Thumbnails should feature artwork from the game being benchmarked
A quick look at the Ghostrunner 2 video, you have text in the bottom left that overlaps the in-game HUD.

Good luck with the channel

I'm with them, the intro is waaaay too long. Its long enough you are asking us for feedback on the videos, and I even starting scrubbing thru the intro to find the content. passing some of the video I am suppose to be looking at Razz

Maybe flip one of the B's around in the logo (so they are back to back and mirrored?) Be more eye catching as a logo, and not just two letters. As for what freiwald said, I think a matter of taste/content consumption. Most the channels I watch have 'bland' logos. If it was a 'logo' more, (my suggestion or something else) it would be a clean simplistic logo I would click.

For the content, not sure its really going to catch anyone. Right now (not sure if you mean to add more as you get viewers) but you only have one set of hardware to use. Which is a catch22 as hard to get viewers with that, to get more hardware money from views.

As it is now its REALLY niche on people with that setup, or looking to get that setup, would find it useful.
For example your results are obtuse to any use to me: Ok he gets these results with that, what does that mean to compare to if I want to get a 12700 and 7900xtx? Or I think my framerate is low for my specs, how do I use his to gauge if my 7950x and 4080 is running poorly?
Most people go to them to find the one set of specs the same, or close, to what they have to compare to judge which hardware to get, or what they have/get should run like.

IMO an intro should be a short splash screen with whatever logo/image and text that describes what the video is about.

Narration is pretty much a must to be interesting.

Thank you very much for your honest opinions. They are very important to me.

Long term then I have to rethink my channel.

If this type of content stays, I need to work on:
A refinement of the logo
A thumbnail template with higher potential clicks
Shorten the intro to a minimum or delete it, and add the rest of the information to the outro at the end
Refining the placement of graphics with subtitles on the video
Adding life to the video in the form of my face and voice
Adding more hardware to compare

I see a big project to be done here Smile
