Is there something like a singleplayer campaign?
I am not exactly on the multiplayer trip....

Btw, new post worthy, I need some of you guys to give this hamachi method a try.
Some games default to using your internet so it won't see your lan connection. This happened in dungeon siege II. What me and my buddy did to get it to work.
~Go into network connections and disable your internet connection. This will force the game to see the hamachi connection and use it instead.
~Run the game.(not sure if you should need to make a game first or just have the game started for the next step)
~Alt+Tab out of the game and re-enable your network connection.
Also can't remember if both sides needs to do this, I think so. I'm about to test it now so I'll report back.
lemmee know if that works.

i played it on xbox when it was released and while i really dont enjoy xbox, it was alot better than halo and gears was one of the few games where "sp-coop" actually existed. (i played all of them 'cept the third one from start to finish and i cant like it for a number of reasons)
Gears felt fresh at its time, the heavy guy and running/cover felt solid, guns are utterly shit, now i do realize that you are some marine in a 200 ton armor, and so are the mobs, but when you unload a clip in someone/something i kinda expect a reaction from them.
Im sorry, gears is nothing but an overrated "ok" game (not saying its a 1/10, but it got WAY more credit than it should) For ppl who havnt played it, go play it, im sure it will bring some joy to ya, but im just gonna stick to cod4 because that seriously kicks ass ^^

ok my lan method didn't work.
The game is tieing the network connections to your network card/connection and won't see hamachi. Got a friend working on a work around.

It seems to be the other way around for me  Although I like COD4 .. Respawning enemies and some other stuff just dont feel right.

nothing like a MS Visual C++ runtime library error out of the blue causing the game to not run
first 30mins of the game was fun but it shall now meet the recycle bin, id just reinstall it but since that takes 59 minutes on new hardware id rather not

But can you play this game in lan between two computers.. without any hamachi stuff?
Or is there something that prevents you to do that with the pirated edition? |
So far you'll pretty much need a legit copy to play over the net with anything. Lan at home will work fine. Just hamachi isn't working.
The game is pretty much black listing hamachi.
Buddy got it to tie it's ip to the hamachi network but something else in game is stopping it form working.
BTW since the assholes made it so you can't skip past the intros..

Hes always like this - hes forgot what age of games we are in. The game looks amazing, I don't see how it looks dull considering its in an abandon cloudy city, and a hour and a half isn't enough to really get into the game. If we could get the COOP to work I am sure I could change his mind..
Console or not this game is an A+ game, and that was on the 360. The pc lets you see things in more detail, a lot of people play away from their tv, where as pc gamers are up close so the game on PC lets you see all the details.. As far as sticking to the walls, you can hold space to sprint assuming you didn't rebind that. Sticking to walls is not necessary unless you are running around all the time pressing the space key, which on mine is the default key to take cover. Once you get the hang of it its awesome..
COD4 isn't about realism whomever added that in.. Enemies are many, pretty much the same thing over and over. I liked it but the sitting still in one spot for long periods of time you waited to shoot an enemy, and the constant holding off objectives till help arrives is lame.
I've given up on trying to change immunity he has his games and I got mine, but do not take his advice this game is great, and worth playing. Just someone get the COOP working so we can play LAN...

well lots of folks on the official forums cant even play the game because the wargame.exe keeps crashing when they click startup, add to that you have to PAY to play COOP and use all the online features! Fuck this consolized piece of shit.
