i figured off the get-go it wasnt gonna be really great, after playing the demo there is nothing special about it. the only thing really interesting is the ability to punch down buildings lol

Certain buildings anyway....seems like some thin wooden planks can be easily destroyed, while others seem impossible to break. Oh well...

My impression of the game is that it runs pretty decent on my shitty system (playable but with little stutters when there is much action going on), considering its only an athlon xp with a gf7800+
The cinematics and effects - when not lagging like fuck - look awesome and it s a huge step up from Farcry. The suit-effects are also very cool. I played my first time around in the demo just like any other shooter without using the special tricks of the suit and it was plain vanilla Farcry with worse accuracy and enemies that can take more bullets. But when playing around with the suit, you can add alot of different gameplay variations that really make the game fun. I love it. It s a good shooter at heart with great fx and some added fun-factors. How can you not love it, even the cut-scenes and the voice-talent is great  The run of the mill story doesnt phase me as the rest is perfectly delivered, albeit poorly on my shitty 5-year old system 
So are all the haters hating it, because it dared to add some playing variability or because it isnt situated in ww2? I ll wait for the full game to judge it, but from what the demo delivered, i think it s the game i ll really enjoy, even if i have to wait a year for the hardware that runs it.

the mass effect video i saw looked awesome, but its console only, right?
as for the crysis vs. hl2 comparison, i felt the same at first, but i guess it s all down to firepower really. Just drive a car into one of those korean huts With better ammo, it might be more fun too. And if you want to blow everything up, just play some stranglehold =) That at least fueled my longing for endless destruction for the next weeks |

the game is fun no doubt. not sure what some people were expecting where EA is involved tbh.
its not great but its good and with all the shit that comes to pc thats good enough. as for spending lots of money on hardware to play it, thats bulshit. yeah like if you bought a quad core and 8800gtx then you cant use them for anything else? if the game got people to upgrade then thats a good thing because you have to upgrade every so often or majority of new games will run crap.
so those complaining take the game for what it is, a fun FPS to spend some time on killing and blowing up shit. if you think its crap then dont bother to stay in a thread dedicated to the game or that just proves you have no fucking life at all you sad people.

Ah that's why the demo i played was different than the videos and i thought it was just the settings. Oh well i guess they couldn't pull the first pic gfx for a whole game judging on the poor performance of the current one.

the people bashing the game are just those who have 6 year old pc's and prefer to play games on consoles anyway... i dont know why we care about these peoples opinions, they obviously have no standards.

oh well.. looks good enough anyway.
with the graphics from the old videos I'm sure it wouldn't be playable on anything but an 8800 GTX SLI + quad core system.
and who knows, maybe you can even enable those even better graphics. they did say that the engine has a lot of stuff left that's just too good for today's hardware, and over time as better hardware becomes available, they'll unlock additional details with patches.
maybe you can do some crazy ini tweaking in the final or even in the demo to enable some extra shit.
