3h of playing? with codes or at easy level?
6h gametime isnt the fault of developers? so who is responsible for that? its not the question of what platform is game designed for. its question about lazyness and effectiveness of scenario makers. most of pc and console "action" games took 6-12h of playing to complete them. its really not much. fps, tps, survival horrors, arcades, etc etc - all of them are shorter than thay should be. even action-rpgs are short now. 1 of the main reasons of downloading illegal games is the ammount of time needed to finish them. do they really believe that poor citizens from asia, eastern europe or south america will spend 10-50% of their monthly income to buy a game which can be completed in 1 day? what for? |
Action games like this can't be made long, and it's common sense why. Games like this have little diversity as of what to do so people will start to lose interest due to the game getting repetitive. Short games don't make a shitty game, lack of quality and repetitiveness does. You want to do the same thing over and over again for a 24 hour game? Go play the sims than.
The game will have it's replay value, just because you beat it once on easy if your wimp in one day is no one elses fault, especially if you lack a life and sit in your room all day and play it till you beat it. Some of us only play our games for a couple hours at a time so it'll go on after 1 day. It'll prob take me a week to beat since I have other games to play as well. Not too mention the MP and replay value with co-op etc (assuming the replay value is good) will keep people coming back for more.
And no, the reason for illegal downloading of games is not because their short. It's 1) because idiots like you are cheap and want to find every little excuse not to have to pay for a game just because you know how to get it as a free loader and don't want to spend your xbox/pc magazine money on a game when you could get it for free. 2) A developer makes a shitty port or a shitty game period i.e. EA, UBIsoft

Actually I prefer short games. I have so many things to do with my studiying, girlfriend, working and so on that I can only play for a few hours a week.
So a 30-40 hour game would take months for me to finish, and that's where I lose my interest. When I know that I can finish a game, it's worth playing and buying, as long as I have my fun.
Short (but intense) games ftw.

But its nice just to know you have them on ur HD...isn't it
I do something similar. I DL the games I think I will like, play, and then somet new comes, and if the previous game don't hold up, I usually flush it with in 1 week etc.
Still... keep most of the ISO's on a external drive or burn...if I feel like it.

yeah, I agree. Probably even ~80% of the games I download I don't have time to finish ... once I go a couple weeks without starting it up, chances are I'll never play it again |
Deus Ex and FEAR were prob one of the couple PC games I actually beat cause a lot of games are so damned long I get sick of playing it.

yeah, for me the last games I played to the end in the last year (when I finally got a new GFX card) were Brothers in Arms (1st one), C&C Generals, FarCry (2nd time), GTA:SA, Condemned, COD2, FEAR +expansion, and just yesterday Half Life 2

Definitely going to give GOW a good try though, hopefully it runs ok on my computer.

Seen it in action on the same config but video being a 7600gs. Played fine. So on 8600GT should be above average settings.
On my rig X2 4200+/2gb/8600GTS works perfectly on max
