ragnar, there are currently no such PAL games in existence... probably Super Mario Galaxy PAL will contain firmware 3.1E.And MasterJuba, not everyone (including me) had English as a native language so take a chill pill

So I dont have an updateable modchip (Wiinja V2) so the current releases wont work but does this also mean the PAL release wont work due to Nintendo's new protection or is it just because the current release is NTSC?

PAL won't work either without a fw update on the modchip (assuming PAL will have the same protection as US and JAP)...

Damn. But I could buy it and it would obviously work ok? If there is some kind of update on the retail disc could that affect my previous 'backup' games?

yep. The original will work and will not mess up previous backup games...
but assuming future games will have the same protection, you could replace the modchip by the same price as you would buy the original and be "future proof"

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
The guy who chipped my Wii said he will swap my Wiinja V2 for a Wiinja Deluxe for £20! Gonna get that done on Tuesday next week! That one works with the SMG right?

Why the hell would the original work? The game has the copy protection, not the backup. I'm pretty sure that if the game detects the modchip, so will the original.

Nope cause the reason that the original works is that when an original disc is inserted the chip is not activated. Only when a dvd-r og +r is inserted the modchip kicks in.. |

yeah, I needed a lot of tries to complete that =/
Luckily it seems that it's the only level like that in the game.
it's pretty cool how they mix the different levels together so that it doesn't get boring.

Thank god I was not the only one. I failed so many times, I thought I just flat out sucked in this game. Seeing as how everyone else is having trouble with that surfing mini game, it is clear that it is actually a challenging game after all.

Used the 1.9g beta update on my Wiikey. Burnt to a Maxell DVD-R using DVDecrypter. Had to plug a gamecube controller into slot 1 in order to perform the update. Worked flawlessly. Amazing game.. a MUST play.

So my Wiinja Deluxe has been installed! Yay! I might finally be able to play the game everyone is raving about! But before it will work I need to update the chip? Is this easy and is there any risk involved?
