That must be quite frustrating as there's a ton of stuff to do and discover even in the first chapter so getting trough it can take a while, strange problem though as the game keeps multiple autosaves (five or so) together with quicksaves and normal saves. Confused

So far into the first chapter I'm in love with this game, the combat is a bit clumsy and in need of some tweaking but I love how they combined turn style combat with live action. Only problem is that you sometimes have to crush the mouse button before Wolf starts his attack, and other times he gets stuck in constant parry so you have to move him to be able to attack.
And for the load/save times, they're almost as short as nwn2 mask of the betrayer. About 12 seconds when you go outdoors and alot faster when entering buildnings.
Alchemy is fun for me cause its so simplified, you just need the ingredients and with a click of a button you can make a potion, scrolls is a nice touch for finding little more interesting mixtures.

And I love the guy at the first inn standing among the fighters who taunts by saying: You're momma sucks dwarf cock! Absolutely brilliant! Very Happy

I used a fixed image and mounted that in the free version of daemon tools 4.10 (non-vIDE) and that worked great. I use Vista 32bit but it may work for you.

I know vIDE doesn't work on 64bit XP, that's why i asked if anyone found a workaround.

I don't just run out and buy every game, I try it and if I like it then I buy, the witcher doesn't even have a demo so how the hell am i supposed to know if it sucks ass?

Can anyone let me know if this game uses the same sluggish boring combat system that NVN2 used? That game was garbage and if this resembles it in any way other then the engine I'll pass.

Otherwise, I'm down for an RPG!

left mouse button melee attack
right mouse button magic atack.

mellee attack = point clicker on enemy, let guy attack and at end of attack animation, cursor flames up meaning click again at that time to enter 2nd attack in combo, lights up again click again for finishing combo. Repeat. Also 3 different combat styles which work with other kinds of enemies with damage and chance to hit.

I personally don't care for it as well as others don't but honestly, once you get used to you get so immersed in the game you don't really pay much attention to it anymore. The scenery is beautiful , the quests are plenty.

Yes I am m8, loving it, still find the combat a bit crappy, but the humour in the game makes up for this, some of the stuff in this game has me pissing myself laughing.

Anyone else having problems with the blizzard potion? Im at the beggining of act 2, took the blizzard potion at the cave just before fighting the beast, but now the blury effect is still active despite 12 hours of meditation. The screen goes all blury when Geralt runs which is very annoying. Have the latest patch btw...

That shouldn't happen, that blizz is short duration potion. Drink 'wives tears' if you have recipe or another blizz and meditate, it could cancel it.

Reload an old savegame. Had the same problem, only loading a game before drinking the damn potion solved it. :/

man im not yet sure if i need to restart after the patch but cba doing so. anyone noticed if old save games(from unpatched) do have the patch fixes?

is the hand-to-hand combat supposed to be so tricky? find it hard tio get the first punch in even after blocking the other guy, armed combat is way easier. im sure its meant to be but anyone got any tips for hand to hand?

Could anyone tell me where to find all them SEPIRATHS, the ones you place inside the monoliths, so far I have found 8 of them but I cannot seem to find the last two. Well actually I only need one more cuz I will get the 9th after defeating the golem, so I am still looking for one more. I prayed to the menelith altar in the hospital and there I received 5 sepiraths at once, kalksteins notes also mention something about the sewers but so far I haven't found jack shit there. At the sewer entrance is some kind of bulls head you can place shit into but dunno what to place in there.

So far I have,

Tipperath
Kezath
Maalkad
Veenah
Gevrath
Oth
Choccmah

How do you forge a magical rune into your silver sword? Do you have to visit a mage of some sort? No option to forge runes when talking to blacksmiths...
