We should see better dx10 with games that are exclusively dx10 not dx9/dx10 like Crysis, but who nows when will that be as developers are still reserved about making games exclusively for vista, we could see it when Microsoft concludes they reached a peak with selling vista and then release dx10 for xp, or when they fix vista with a couple of service packs (which they said they wouldn't but still).

Because there's no market for it, and good luck waiting on that. Only about 5% have switched to Vista as far as I know?

LOL

i dont see what the problem is. Modding has been around for ages and just because most developers are closed minded closed-source idiots it doenst mean people shouldnt be able to play around with the demo and have lots of fun. The more fun they have, the more its an incentive to buy the game really. So adding the sandbox editor to the demo is only a good thing for the developers in my opinion really, and will also give the mod-community a jump-start, making the game even more desirable.
As for pointing out where you can find the storyline of the game revealed. Well, as if a game experience was about story alone. Especially a game like crysis. It s like comparing a porn-movie transcript to real sex Rolling Eyes

edit: the above isnt directed at you BluSkyz, but rather on the stupidity of the guy's comments, so if you found it to be funny commentary, you re welcome Very Happy

Not exactly surprising news, but 64-bit gaming once again showing useless (of course applications is a whole different matter).

Check it out over here.

Put the "level.pak" data in "Crysis SP Demo\Game\Levels\island"

Back up the original if you dont want to overwrite it.
Start NEW GAME!!!!!, NOT LOAD GAME!

(maybe mentioned earlier, but I am to lazy to read back in this mega thread )

this wont work if you run the demo in 64bit mode you have to use the 32bit .exe !!
the 32 bit .exe can be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis SP Demo\Bin32

yeah... I won't check out stuff like the aliens. I want to see that in context in the single player mode.
it's only 2 more weeks so it's ok Smile

I think when you first see some really cool aliens in the game it'll be a lot cooler than seeing them in the editor and then in the game two weeks later. would take a lot excitement away I think.

After all these years with 64-bit PCs, 5-7fps is a miniscule. I still see it as contradictory against the benchmark I posted though.

I think I'll pass on the "add all weapons & Vehicle's to the demo" file.

Couple questions...

Is there a way to add the scope to your gun in the demo or do you have to wait until the full version appears..? I'd rather not use the config posted eariler.

Can you pick-up an enemy gernade..? Has anyone tried since everything is suppose to be interactive in the game..? I still haven't tried to grab a guy around his neck, I always shoot-em dead before I get close.

It would be cool if you could pick-up a dead body and throw it at another guy to knock him down.

there are multiple benchmarks out there and some show a decrease in performance on 64 bit, while others show the same performance and then others show an increase in performance.

what's going on with that? the websites that show a decrease and the ones that show an increase are all reliable sources so those benchmarks can't be fake. something's just wrong there.

yeah you can use the editor to place stuff.
simply put the scopes you want on the beach you start at and you can pick them up
or if you meant to ask how you can add stuff to your weapons simply press c and you can add all sorts of stuff to your weapon aslong as you have the attachments.

Yeah, I installed Vista 64bit because I remember Cevat saying something about a 20% performance increase, but I didn't get any of that at all. A huge waste of time, really. Hopefully someone will patch/write better drivers or whatever.

Loading of levels is locked unless its "island" level. If you're making something make it as Island or wait for the full game.
