Yeah I know Epsilon, I just thought that if you're gonna give it a percentage score like that then that's the percentage you'd want crysis to get from more or less objective game magazines. :p

It's funny how Far Cry 2 looks more interesting than Crysis, and I think that's saying a lot. The suit is nothing but a gimmick ("oh I run faster, oh I shoot stronger, oh I pick Koreans and throw them farther").

I suppose "Delta" mode is most interesting. Aim Perfect or die trying.

Farnus: Thanks a lot for the map! It was cool to see the cold/ice effects. When I reached the first camp, everything got warm again and my view distance increased quite a bit and fog went away, did you edit it to be like that or was that just the weather effects in the engine doing it automatically?
I've already spent like 10 hours playing the demo, that's better than most retail games have done for me recently.. I think it's safe to say that I'm buying this one on day one.

I don't get it.
Since when were people complaining so much about games not bringing anything new to the table? Last I remember ingenuity has taken a back seat in game development lately. This game as well as a ton that have recently been released do nothing new, just improve an already solid foundation. That's the direction FPS are going, I don't get how people expect some ground breaking feature.
A shooters a shooter, all you get is tweaked mechanics between games to distinguish them, that and varying stories/guns/environments and Wa La! FPS! When has that changed?
I think people are trying to justify the hype way too much, and when something falls below their level of acceptance it immediately fails. And I don't blame anyone, I do it with a ton of games.
But I also believe this game won't/doesn't deserve less then a 80%. It's a solid FPS that entertains - I don't need revolutionary additions. I think the technological progression they made with this game was their selling point and it blends well with the game play.

i dont understand what 'new' you could want in a fps? this is a game that gives you an open environment to play in, a power suit that requires you think carefully about how to approach a situation, great graphics, physics, scope, fun gameplay... i think it doesnt bring anything new, but it takes whats allready been done and takes it to a whole new level.
as usually, the ai is the only thing lacking, but apart from FEAR, i havent seen any pariticularily good AI around lately anyway.

I like the demo, like Surray wrote I also like the freedom to choose to sneak by some NK instead of gunning them down.
I also find the Delta difficulty the way to go, iron sights and a somewhat realistic damage model makes the game so much better.
Latest and greatest...

Delta difficulty is great. I like it that they basically change the gameplay in that mode to a more realistic experience instead of just making enemies shoot better, do more damage and take more damage as it's usually done.

Should I get the demo? What does this game have anyway? The only thing I ever hear about it over at GameFAQs concern how pretty it looks.
Also it has aliens, which was kinda what killed Far Cry for me. Of course in Far Cry it was mutants, but still the same thing.
Truth be told, I'm actually more interested in Far Cry 2 than this game since as I said earlier, all I know concerning this game is that it has pretty graphics. :/

you're obviously not interested so no need to download an 1.8gb demo.

Actually, I was wondering about just how big the content of the demo is. I have nothing to do anyway, so it can't hurt me. Just need to know if the demo is worth the download.
I'm not much of a gamer these days (since the late PSX days, I tend to just stop playing a game and never come back), but I do want to try games. Just wondering what the hook for this game is and if the demo is fleshy enough.
