As mentioned in the difficulty description you might need a few potions to be successful on higher difficulty levels albeit a few users report using the Aard sign to stun and instantly kill the Beast.
(Oils and such should also help.)

It seemed immune to stunning. Specter Oil is really a big help, swallow too.

Before the battle I'm getting laid in the cave, drinking almost every witcher potion possible and smearing some oil on weapon, but when actual battle starts up all enchantments are gone, except for oil. And drinking during battle fucks me up(50%HP after 1st potion).
Killing him with Aard is impossible when he's full hp, he gets up too fast, not sure how much %hp he must have to stay down longer.
I'm taking smaller dogs in 1-2 strikes, but i can't handle The Beast, fighting is no problem but when he uses that ignite or whatever it is I'm fucked, because that goddamn whore won't heal me. Tried igniting him with torch then running around but that didn't help, bastard's fireproof.
I tried reloading earlier savegame but when i reenter the cave that little bastard isn't there, and i can't take the unstable wall down without him there i think.
Witch can even die once and get up, but sadly only once  .

You should use multi style. I killed him that way easy. You need to have it upgraded but it rockes. What style are you using now?

Multi till all the minions are down then fast because he seems to be dodging most of strong.
I'm getting to start 3rd part of fast combo when he usually lands that crap.
edit: GODDAMN WHORE WITCH! had him down at 5% and that BITCH didn't healed.

you need to use strong on him if you want to kill him, i got lucky once and killed him with group, otherwise you need to use group to clear out the barghests then strong on the beast

He dodges too much with strong, and he burns me almost all the time.

does it fraking mater what it is , at lest it is fascinating and has great gameplay

@ KILLING THE BEAST!
Make sure u light the fire outs with the first sign u got, so it can't spawn any more hounds, if u got low on health, just run around in circles and wait for more.
@ CENSORSHIP!
There is NO censorechip in this RLS! Atleast NOT for ME! I got heads rolling and naked chars!

Tut! just started playing tonight. what's up with games these days? 10% game, 90% video, if I wanted to watch a film I turn on the telly, it's a game I'm after.

Yes, but in the polish/czech version you can cut off arms and legs. In this version actually not, as far as i heard.

I don't have any fire signs, most likely because i didn't gave Aby up.

I only see heads rolling, didn't see any limbs flying once.

It's rather 80% game 20% video, and you can skip the cutscenes.

why would they remove cutting off arms and legs but leave cutting off heads in? that makes no sense.
@Mussolinka:
I also play on hard and had quite a tough time with the beast. Took me about 7 tries, and what made winning possible for me was a blizzard potion. Just as the game tells you, alchemy is pretty much required on hard to survive some of those boss battles. I think the beast is also not totally immune to the stun effect of the Aard sign. (in case you got that skilled)
If you're lucky the beast gets stunned and you can just one-hit it.

Guys this game will start with Daemon Tools 9 version? Because 10 version is crap. And if the game doesn't start with dt 9 i will buy the game in a forum for 20€

hey guys whats the recipe to make the bomb surma or summa something like that.. you throw it down and it stuns all enemies near you?
also, anyone having any probs registering their game? when i try it says i need to be logged in to use this feature, this is step 3 while step 2 is logging in lol

I know that I cut someones arm in this version, but whats with those coupt de grace (or whatever) that game mentiones in tutorial, I've only killed couple of enemies that I stunned in that prologue now It just doesen't work for me, I think I still stun them but no quick deaths.

This has got to be the best tavern in an rpg ever, tavern brawls, drinking contests, wenches, gambling, the only thing missing is some random adventure party bragging about killing monsters and plundering dungeons
