ACT 1- How do you access cementrary? That dude Thaler doesnt give me option to ask for permit. And where do you find lost boy in the swap? All other quests are done so i only need to go in tower and kill that detective.

Nonono! Here is what you have to do to have DT Pro Adv run properly:

For non-english Windows:

copy file

>>> dtpro.dat <<<

from
"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\DAEMON Tools Pro\"

to

"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\[Application Data - in your language]\DAEMON Tools Pro\"

I had exactly the same problem myself.
Had to search about an hour to find this trick. Very Happy
Now DT Pro Adv runs perfectly. Activate IDE drive, mount, install -> play!
It will work 100%!
Don't forget to apply patch 1.1 and 1.1a!

Shocked Oh My God!

Is true!!!!!!! Now work very well!

I'm downloading the patch 1.1a ,113mb Very Happy

I've already created a IDE drive... and I'm ready to try this awesome game! Very Happy

I agree, this game is amazing. For me it's best pure rpg after Baldurs gate, and that is a lot.

It has all that Neverwinter and Oblivion were missing. Compelling story and quests, gore, mature content and great tactical combat. It is true that combat looks like crap at first, and it takes a long time to get used to it, but once you learn it you notice that it has a lot of depth. Bombs, magic, alchemical blade coating and probably most believable potion system in any game just add to whole experience and make you really feel like one tough bad ass.

I just urge anyone that try it to have patience with this game, since learning curve is steep as it took me prologue and almost whole first chapter to get used to how game works.

Yes..yes...YES!

After tinkering with the dtpro's ini file, I managed to enable the IDE drives without actually starting the main application. The game started twice. I'm as happy as a guy playing The Witcher can be! Yeehaw!

Thanks for everyone's help, especialy SpikeZ's help because he was really trying to help. Even though the main app still crashes before it could start, vIDE is ebabled and that's just enough.

This game is as good or better than everyone that likes the game has stated. What a rich, high production value and well made game. The combat is nice and I loved it right off the bat. The graphics are way superior over NWN2 and MOTB. The control is good and the quests, characters and story are top notch. Loving this game!!

CDProjekt Red is now on my radar!

Great game but why those stupid fences reminds me of stalker it limits the exploration to a minimum an important aspect of rpg I think, 200 times better would be wildlife and terrifying monsters that would force a low-level player to avoid the woods and stick to the road. Oblivion, two worlds both had huge worlds and both ended up on consoles with their crappy ram it could have been done with Witcher easily, this was precisely the reason why the nwn2 engine scared me it simply wasn't designed with a large scale world in mind, I won't even mention Gothic 3 that was simply huge. If it had that this game would be simply perfect, ah I guess a perfect game will have to wait for another day.

I was a huge fan of that free roaming since Morrowind, but I soon realised that those games had two huge drawbacks fighting and story. And both (imo) can’t be fixed. For good story you need guided areas, and for good combat you need to be guided so you don’t get too strong.

There is absolutely no reason at all why a game couldn't have all three Witcher would in fact if the levels were more open. Oblivion is closest until now, it's big and free to explore with lots of shrines and quests to find somewhere outside the damn road, combat is great, story and quests are great, the only thing missing is the RPG part.

I'm not sure Witcher can be 'fixed' not likely with this engine anyway, my god what a game that would be imagine a Gothic3 map (with better desert textures/world) combined with the Witcher story and gameplay, would get my vote for best game ever.

as naikutu or whatever his name is said it's poker rules pretty much.

you get to of the same number it's called a pair. you can hold those two and roll again. now if you get anymore of the same it goes to 3 of a kind etc. rolling a 1 2 3 4 5 is a flush. get two 2's or two 4's etc it's called a 2 pair. or you can get 2 pair and 3 of a kind.

I think what madmax is pointing out is that he is trying to find something bad to say about the game and it just isn't coming out the way he wants it to. ha ha ha. this game 9.0/10 for sure. Loading times are a biotch sometimes but beyond that this game is solid. Not everything has to be open ended for it to be good madmax.

1,2,3,4,5 is a five high straight 2,3,4,5,6 is a six high straight, 3 of a kind and a pair is a full house.
As far as I'm aware, you can't get a flush in a game of dice as the highest is 6 and you would require a 10 and a 7 to get a flush.

the RPG part is there
Role-playing game, a game in which players assume the roles of characters and collaboratively create narratives

* Tabletop role-playing game, also called traditional roleplaying games in which participants usually sit around a table and conduct the game as a small social gathering
* Computer role-playing game (sometimes CRPG), a computer game with the setting and game mechanics of a role-playing game

If this game is as good as I've heard I fully intend on buying it when I can afford it. I always support devs who make great games. I'm in between jobs right now though.

After the first part at Kaer is over, It goes to another cutscene, I wont name details but suffice to say, its basically like watching a slideshow of screenshots during the entire thing. Its ruining the game for me so I'm done playing till I can fix this, turning the graphics down helps but doesn't fix it entirely. I don't know whats causing it, because the rest of the game (The parts I can play) run fine. Well I'm going to go with my lack of ram theory and order another gig, so I will see how it works once I get it next week, as games like crysis need more ram too so I might as well get it now.

Well after getting another gig, this cutscene runs fine (no lag at all now) and my game is playable again.
