Really I didn't know you can fight more than one opponent at the same time Geralt locks on just one every time, but I only used group style once so I don't know. |
ya when you use the group style he swings his sword a lot more recklessly so it hit's all the guys around you which is very useful cause it hits them off balance and stops them from hitting you.

And why are you saying that in this thread? Can't even compare the two in any way.

your buying it right? |
You know what, I might!
No, right now I am leeching it. It didn't show up on my usenet for some reason. Only the nfo and the 72nd file did! I found an alternative method (Evil Overlord Laugh MWAHAHA!) LOL!
If it is as good as people say I will buy it. I just bought Bioshock and The Orange Box. My son is due to be born December 1st so money is a little tight.
SpykeZ, you are thoroughly enjoying this game right? I am really looking forward to this type of game! The planets are aligned for this game for some reason.......just feels right at the moment.

The game is the best RPG/Medieval I've played since Baldur's Gate II ( I didn't play the first one ) The towns, the tavers and so forth are just as alive and immsersive as BGII was, all the voices, the noises, the barking of dogs, walking around town and seeing people react to the weather and what time it is. Being able to interact with them makes it even more like your there, gambling, drinking games, getting piss ass drunk which is awesome and is probably the first game to actually make you feel drunk.
Action is decent and there isn't too much or too little, the combat is a bit weird at first I didn't think I was going to like this game because of it, but since I toughed it out and got used to it, I simply LOVE it now. Especially once you get used to using the different fighting styles and mixing it up with your magic.
The game is greatly optimized but the loading times are the only bad thing I see about this game, most houses are empty and load times to get in them are barely nothing, but going back outside you have to reload the whole level again which gets time consuming, but your so into the game, I hardly ever notice how long they are anymore.
To be honest, the games reminds me of BGII (for the design and sounds etc) Fable (the fantasy theme) and Morrowind (going inside just about any house, steal what you want, use what you want, create your own potions).
The amount of side quests is enourmous as well, bulletin boards with quests, random people you meet, gambling, boxing, trying to score with the ladies.
Me and my friends simply love it, I got a buddy out in Norway who's gunna import me a bunch of copies for me and some friends.
Personally, this is THEE best game I have played all this year and probably last year next to Bioshock, which isn't even in the same genre, so I'd pay just about any amount for this game, especially for the fact these developers treated us as pc gamers and gave us just that, not too mention their really listening to the community's feedback and popping out patches.
I got a buddy who said the modkit was supposed to be coming out on the net if I understood him correctly which will make this game just worth that much more. |
Wow!!! Very nice mini review! I appreciate the time you put into that. I am installing the game now and looking forward to it. I will report back soon my impressions.
Thanks again,
MD

Ya outside is quite a bit more forgiving granted the paths to the area are more or less paths shaped by fences, I read somewhere due to the engine you aren't able to jump fences, but once you get out of the castle and start picking up side quests you start to forget about your slight limitation of freedom on the road because you can do quests in any order you want.
Frant1c wrote: | Looks like I'm with SpykeZ on this one, awesome game to be honest. Just placed my order, this game deserves it, plus I want to see a sequel.
Reasons why I think it deserved to be bought; Great PC-RPG, no consolized crap so children in weelchair can play with their elbows; Mature, I love to decapitate people; I love the dark and gritty yet beautiful world. Suprisingly good game comming from a totaly new unknown developer aswell.
I buy way too few games, sure EA etc etc doesn't deserve it anyway but buy this one if you like it. |
I should smite you for even using "EA" in the same post praising this

However it's troubling that even trainers are starting to come out, but still no crack! Shouldn't the cracking only take about 3-4 days at maximum? I know that TAGES might require a complete content check, but I would be most happy to have a crack that let me play half way through. By the time I get there there might be a crackfix or something. |
it's more than just tages, and tages isn't exactly easy to crack, and if blueskys was right, they added custom checks to patch 1.1a

Just bought it myself, the creators really did an awesome job on creating their first game. Well-deserved!

The patch hasn't been applied correctly. Boot in safe mode and rerun the patch from the DT installation folder.

Spoiler: |
It's a Bruxa and the others are Alps, two of the highest-tier vampires you might encounter, these are actually friendly and prefer sex (Takes a bit of blood and gold as payment from wealthy clients albeit they don't require blood but they like the taste much as a drunkard likes alcohol based on descriptions found in books and dialogue.) since they run a high class bordello and you also get a interesting side quest in which this particular scene might play out depending on what you choose to do.
EDIT: You can read a bit about the Bruxa here.

And see a model renderer here.
