Doesn't matter what brand you go for anymore, they're all practically the same.

Hey guys,
i've been working on a map for 1-2 days now and i'm about to finish it. Do you guys know wich file i have to upload, so everyone can download & use it ? ... i just uploaded the island.cry for my friend but nothing changes for him when he starts the sp game... it's still the standard map.
(...and yea... i know that i can just press CTRL+E to send it to the "Engine" and i can play it in SP...but it doesn't work for other ppl who downloaded the map.)

Just FYI, all brands are using the same reference card as nvidia so really there should be no difference at all.

Went all out and purchased myself a new rig.
22in LCD Widescreen Monitor
320GB SATA2 HDD
4GB Ram PC 5400
Intel Duo E6850 @ 3Ghz
Gaming Case
680 Watt Power Supply
EVGA 8800 GTS 640MB
Now the Credit Card is maxed. And I'm broke..
No...I did not do this just for Crysis
My old PC is already sold.

Why did you get a GTS? Should have bought a 8800GT, which is lots better than the GTS models.

I think you guys are still not gonna get the full experience with GT, GTS, or GTX for that matter. Basically I guess one would need 2x 8800GS in SLI as minimum to play Crysis smoothly. I am running a GTX and I only get 30-35 FPS max on all high, tops! and that's not even using the highest res.
Oh and yea, EVGA ALL THE FRACKIN WAY!

I installed that tweak that adds Parallax Occlusion Mapping to the Dx9 mode. It does clearly work but there seems to be no filtering whatsoever and all pom textures in the distance get extremely blurred. Is this a known issue? Any way to fix it? Cause pom is teh shit and I wanna use it

Is there any way to get a 3rd person view in the normal game? And any way to use the console commands? (Not in the editor)

Here is a tutorial on how to export/import maps.
Didn't try it myself, but sounds plausible.
Quote: | You've probably seen a video of someone playing a map they made in Sandbox 2 in the actual Crysis game.
I'm going to teach you how to do that yourself.
The first thing you need to do is browse to:
C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis SP Demo\Game\Levels
By default you will only see these two things:
island
Multiplayer
The 'island' folder contains the files for the demo map Island.
The 'Multiplayer' folder contains the Multiplayer maps (which is only Shore currently).
If you have done anything in Sandbox 2 and saved it, you will see other things in the 'Levels' folder. You'll see the levels you made! They will each have their own folder.
-
Example: I'm using Sandbox 2 and make a new level. When I'm done editing it I save it. The name I use for the level is ExampleLevel. If you was to look in my 'Levels' folder now, you would see the following three things:
island
Multiplayer
ExampleLevel
-
After you save your map, you'll also want to do File -> Export to engine.
You like being able to go ingame on Sandbox 2 and test things in your level, but when you actually want to play it, you probably want to do so in the actual Crysis. The demo doesn't support testing your levels unfortunately.
Even though the demo doesn't support testing your levels, you still can!
In your 'Levels' folder; rename the folder 'island' to something like 'Demoisland'.
My 'Levels' folder now contains the following:
Demoisland
Multiplayer
ExampleLevel
You'll now want to rename 'ExampleLevel' to 'island'.
My 'Levels' folder now contains the following:
Demoisland
Multiplayer
island
The 'Demoisland' is the real Island map and the 'island' is my 'ExampleLevel'.
Open the 'island' folder now and you will notice the files are still named with 'ExampleLevel'. You need to rename the files that have 'ExampleLevel' in to 'island'.
You can now close the 'Levels' folder and Sandbox 2.
Now you can play your map in Crysis by doing the following:
1) Open Crysis SP Demo
2) Choose to play Singleplayer
3) Click New Game
4) Choose your difficulty
5) Let the map load and press any button when asked to
You will now be playing YOUR map in Crysis! |

Money. That's why..
Plus, with the package I built that was the only option available.
I already went and spent more than I had.
This is certainly a better card that what I had originally.

yeah i have. its called a demo. if the demo runs for you, the full will too... im not buying your try before you buy shit... if your only interest was to make sure a game you planned to buy would run ok, youd be more patient - your gimme-gimme-gimme attitude is the same as every other ungreatful kid here who just wants their free shit NOW NOW NOW!

Notice the out of stock suppliers are all the cards that come pre-overclocked. Generally you don't pay a premiem for the privilage of this but tbh, they're much of a muchness and if you can be arsed to overclock the card yourself then its never a problem.
Not sure about the others but BFG offer a life time guarentee which isn't complicated to claim on. XFX come the most overclocked out of the lot, but there isn't a lot in it. Gainward are just plain overpriced.

I did. I did it good.
Really.
This game runs like shit on my old computer.
My e-peen shrunk with at least an inch.
I will tell myself that I will buy a new computer, but it wont happen and I will be stuck with everything released before 2004! Looks very nice on good hardware thou.
But its " look but don't touch", for me on this one.
