Good for you. The GT is dirt cheap and it beats the shit outta the 2900.

Crytek forgot to take out the complete script of the game out of the demo.
This means, you can read the entire script of the whole game!
Go to: Crysis SP Demo\Game\Localized and open english.pak with WinRAR.
Inside the archive, go to the folder Languages\compiled docs and open one of the two files there with Word.
There you have the complete script, with all dialogues, events and so on.
But don't read it all, you don't want to spoil the fun |
I'm certainly not gonna read that, I wanna enjoy this game and knowing the whole plot would ruin it for me.
A pitty the sad people wgo could not hold themselves and read the plot

just wanted to say that the game is playable on an acer laptop 1694wlmi (which should be below minimum requirements)
Intel® Pentium® M processor 760 2.0GHz
1GB DDR
ATI® MOBILITY™ RADEON™ X700 (shader model 1.1 or whatever)
it flickers sometimes but it's very playable

Where did u get your info reffering to the refresh of the 8800 gts model? Got a link?
I own this model and wanted to change it for an 8800 gt but since u said the other one would be out mid november i would wait. PLeas send link! |
Too lazy to grab links but just check out the major hardware sites, it's pretty well known what's coming in November. The 8800GT is touted to have the best Price:Performance ratio to date.....but unfortunantly it will hold that title for maybe a little over 2 weeks.
Either way no card on the market brings satisfactory performance in Crysis as of now. High at 1280x1024 or 1600x1200+ with mixed settings is all I see them doing until Drivers + patches.

same here, only my cpu is an even worse AMD Turion 1.8Ghz.
Runs fine with 30-40 fps on low, with medium textures. Looks better than anything else I can play on that laptop too.
Crysis with low details runs well on older hardware. What a pity that it doesn't run so well anymore on High with new hardware :P

Hmm looks like everyones performance in DX10 and the Cvar copied shit is garbage because of this:
” Crysis handles foliage very differently from normal engines so TRMS/SS won't work. Bit of a shame really. The game has some built-in foliage AA, but it only kicks in in "Very high" quality mode.” Even if you could enable it, the performance doesn’t seem there yet for it anyway with current video cards.
That's why the distant foilage looks softer and more appropriate in the environment.

UPDATE - 10/29/07-8:29am: A very interesting addendum to this. I just got off the phone with BFG Tech and NVIDIA has been doing some strange things lately. As of this morning, the GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB (unsure on the 320MB) will have its stream processors officially increased to 112, the same as the GT. This should put the GTS back ahead of the GT as per the paper specs. However, the separation in the products is still going to be very small except for those of you wanting to run high resolutions with AA turned on. To do that you are still going to need a $400+ video card..or so. Our new spec GTS is on the way to us now and we will of course be updating you. Given the GT's faster clocks and possibly larger texture unit, we will have to wait and see. Undoubtedly though, the 8800 GT remains a stellar value at the expected price points.

And even Crysis DX9 at 1680x1050, thats fps are laughable. |
Start reading up before you talk smack, the GT still holds up under DX10.

What topic is this? yeah right, Crysis, im talking about Crysis performance that Ultra/GTX/GT struggles badly here. So thats why i want some better card from NVIDIA to see same fps as you mentioned in that review on other games IN Crysis .

that performance list on the top of the page i think is pretty iffy... i dont think ANYONE heres has reported results like that from the demo - most of us wont even get that on dx9, and everyone is report dx10 runs even slower...
^new beta drivers from nvidia? nvidia havent even updated their beta listing, it still shows .01 - and a 2 fps increase in fps when you use the .02 drivers? gee... wow...?

If youre going to play at 1280, go for the GT.
Watercooled 5950X | AORUS Master X570 | Asus RTX 3090 TUF Gaming OC | 64Gb RAM | 1Tb 970 Evo Plus + 2Tb 660p | etc etc

GTX is now only worth if you are going to play at higher resolution where size of videoram matters and also under DX10 with AA GT loses quickly, but thats again at higher resolution.

chiv - you'd rather make a patch to you brains. If i want to see it early - this doent mean i wont buy it then! I will definitely buy this game as i did with all favorite games. I'm not alone doing this way believe me.
ps - moreover its price is only abt usd 30 in Russia.
ps - just checked approx prices again - i think id rather buy a retail box.

jesus christ why are people so fucking STUPID?
Nforce mods or users DO_NOT fucking rip games! nforce has nothing to do with the "scene" in which you get your leech from. Its no good asking Nforce mods to hurry up and release the game.
