For the record:
I don't care if people think it is an MMO or not... i think its dumb worrying about it.
Again, i was just pointing out the fact that Flagship has referred to the game as an MMO.

hi. i live in ger and only can buy a cutted version here. i´ve two options.
1. -import one (but i can play next week for the first time Sad)
2. -i buy the censored version today or tomorrow, later i download the us-version and use the data files from the downloaded version to get it uncut.

do you guys think this "trick" will work online to multiplay or does the server check which version you have installed and denys access?

Also, this has nothing specifically to do with advertisements. EA has nothing do with Massive or potential ad-serving in Hellgate: London. First and foremost, any in-game advertising that would be in Hellgate: London is there to simulate how London looks in the real-world. Ads that represent this have been in the entirety of the beta, and in fact, have been shown in the game for well over a year. The fact is that we did not agree to potentially have ads in the game just to make more money. If we did not work with Massive, we would have to get individual approvals from every single company that we want to feature in the Underground stations. This is simply too time consuming and it’s much better to have the experts to do it, allowing us time to focus on making Hellgate: London better and better while getting a realistic portrayal of London in the process.

See, that right there is a prime example of flagship being completely bogus in their response. So if it isn't about the money then is Massive not giving them a penny for in-game ads? Jeez they must think gamers are gullible smucks if they think this BS will fleece us over. And it just seems the same issue to me with the whole MMO/not MMO thing, he wants MMO players to believe it is a MMO, and single player to believe it isn't. Just like we will all have a great time without subscription as well.

Anyways if they bs this much about a dumb thing like in-game ads(improving atmosphere with a bunch of mountain dew ads my ass) it just makes me wonder what else they have/will BS us all on.

Well, I'll remain optomistic and post my experience with the founder's subscription.

seriously, i'm stuck here with my uk version which will be released on 2.11 and every other one can play it on the 30th. that's not the fine definition of pre ordering.

It's the same for the rest of europe.

I believe EA Store will be having the same release as in the US though, or atleast you can choose the US version and apparently you can make an EU account using an US copy.

Yes, thought so too, but it seems amazon loves me Razz

There have been several reports from fan sites (good german one inhellgate.de) in the forums that almost all amazon preorders have been shipped.

It doesn't matter though, the servers are not online yet so only single player is available.

Bah, it's even SecuROM protected. It even seems to be a very new one, like the one from the new World in Conflict patch or the new Sims Bon Voyage patch. YASU won't help, it just tells me that there has been a problem detected with emulation software. *sigh*
