He can play it and shoot screenshots that show him playing it. The hard part is us playing it. Understand the predicament?

Well he said it smelled fake, when it's not. Rolling Eyes

PC Zone UK already gave it a 68/100 ,saying
"The action is quite a laugh and oddly refreshing. But it repeats and repeats and repeats."

Sig too big.

just out of curiousity... for comparisons sake... what did pc zone uk give half life 2 and bioshock... another couple of games that repeat, and repeat, and repeat... only difference being that those 2 games were hyped beyond belief...

Jericho is also available via Steam.
http://steampowered.com/v/index.php?area=news&id=1267&cc=SE
(Pre-purchase/Unlocks on the 26th.)

And via GameTap.
http://www.gametap.com/home/jericho/Jericho.jsp

EDIT: So even if the retail disc uses SecuROM online activation one could always rip the steam version. Razz
(Unsure what GameTap uses but it's probably some online check or such.)

yea pretty much what i expected... those were 2 very repetative games as well... a few more $$ into hyping and promoting jericho, and im sure it would have gotten 85 to 90% easy on their ratings...

Yeah I forgot that Steam also used SecuROM for Bioshock so the same could be true for Jericho.

Managed to get the downloaded version to start by using the EXE file from the Steam version and a cracked Steam.dll from the CS.R site. Smile
(So a release using a ripped steam version should be possible.)

Clive Barker's Jericho is bad, really bad, 3/10 bad

Unfortunately, the rest of the game is absolutely, positively, most definitely not. Take the writing, for example, especially the opening narration: This overwrought tripe is so over-the-top, so ridiculously high-school-goth that it makes Max Payne's brooding melodrama read like a paragon of stylistic restraint. What's worse is that it's delivered via some truly horrendous voice acting. There are exceptions, of course -- occasionally the dialogue between characters can seem startlingly competent -- but overall it's just bad, bad, bad.

The only thing that saves Jericho from slipping into the pit where laughably awful games go to die is the unusual squad system: In addition to offering basic orders, you get the ability to leap between teammates and possess them, which leads to some pretty interesting dialogue (since they're aware you're, uh, inside them) and allows for a really nice variety of attacks and paranormal powers. You'll get a dude with a pet fire demon, a chick with a katana, and a geeky gal who can "hack reality," among others. Leaping between teammates is by far the most intriguing part of the game, as you experiment with each member's abilities in specific situations. Since each character has dramatically different personalities -- remember, the premise and story are actually quite interesting; it's just the writing that's awful -- this sets up a feeling of legitimate variety that more shooters would do well to emulate.

But the thread holding Jericho above that pit of legendary awfulness is thin and fraying. Mr. Barker, you're better than this.

What I did it only involves taking the EXE file from the steam version and a modified Steam.dll from one of the many emulators such as Revolution wich is what I used.

Copied them to the /Jericho/Bin/ folder after making a backup (Renaming) of the previous exe. Smile

I could probably send the EXE file itself if needed but the modified Steam.dll file counts as a crack and can't be shared over this site.
(Not that they are difficult to get ahold of since there's alot of different steam emulators.)

hahaha that 1up site rated bioshock a solid 10/10. bioshock didnt suck, but come on... how can you take a site seriously when it votes games based purely on hype, and gives good games perfect scores just because the hype tells them too...

a 3 rating from them does not in the slightest dampen my desire to play the game.
