The new turn-based conquer the world campaign sounds badass. Almost like a Rise of Nations in 3d. Which will be kickass as long as all the units don't suck this time around. Looking forward to playing it either way.

Oh god, if they still have builders collect gold and fruit in the 22 centuary in this game, I'm gonna scream! This type of resource collection is long gone from modern RTS!

Nice BS screens the first one was edited with Photoshop (added planes and added some extra effects on that explosion) and the second one looks like a rip off Warcraft 3 with those buildings and those units with big hammers .

The first was alright, the second I didn't bother trying, and this..well, installing.

DEAR GOD YOU HAVE TO PUT THE CDKEY IN 3 FUCKING TIMES.

Once to install
One after the install to download the fucking exec, wtf
And once more to ACTIVATE the exec.

Game is in alpha stage, not beta (EE_alpha.exe), so I won't talk about how poorly it runs.

As far as...bringing anything remotely interesting to the genre, zilch. Outdated graphics, sluggish gameplay with a very lackluster interface, and Warcraft 2 orc style voices for western builders and javalin soldiers.

2 screenshots, uninstalled and deleted. Don't get your hopes up boys.

 Spoiler:

Edit; apparently I took two screenshots, enjoy the "AMB_EAGLE"error messages and the hardcore weather effects that happened about 1 minute into the game.

OMG ! I just remembered when I first played Empire Earth 2 (rented it about a week after it was out)

Oh boy, it was a rare gaming moment of :

"what the FAK is this ?"
"how boring can this be?"
"what is the matter with the graphics, I have everything on max?"
"are these effects 2D, nahhh, can't be, oh wait, I rotate the camera and the explosion effect rotates as well !"

nice.

hmm wikipedia says this:

Quote:
There are three customizable civilizations to choose from which are Western, Middle-Eastern, and Far Eastern. Each civilization can be customized by the player to their choosing.

does that mean we'll once again get to create our own civilization like in EE1? Like where you had X points and you could use those points to buy civilization abilities? that was awesome and I really missed it in EE2.

wow.. EE1.. had great times with that game. I was actually a beta tester of EE1! good old times...

This fucking resource collecting bullshit is SOOOO 90's. This is the fucking 21st century. When will they come up with something new? This is why i love all the total war games. No bullshit resource collecting and retarded base building. The only resource is money. And unlike these shitty RTS games like EE where you can only have like 10 units on screen at once, in the TW games you can have thousands.

Total War series > any other so called "strategy" game.

I like how resources were managed in DoW/CH, you take over lands (or strategic points) and in return get money (or whatever the resource). Collecting fruit is fucking retarded at this day and age.

What are you talking about ???

Base building and resource collection are core of RTS Games (Dont even try and compare it to total war cause thats just stupid)

And you never played empire earth series if ur thinking u can have 10 units on a screen at once..
