While no but see this very nice lineup of writers:
Aaron Seltzer:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0783536/
Jason Friedberg:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0294997/
While these might produce rather ok'ish comedy along with the 4 other writers of the Scary Movie series but when its only themselves then it gets turned to shit im afraid. Terrible how low comedy is these days.

Date Movie was fun. Even Epic Movie had one or two funny moments. Nobody says it's the best in comedy genre, but it's plainly stupid to bash it just because the majority says so.

The majority itself seems to love those pieces of dog turds, its a matter of upholding some standards if we let modern comedy turn into that... It would simply be a catastrophe!

Please name a good 2006-2007 comedy. All that chuck&larry, superbad and knocked up crap is in no possible way better than DM or EM.
Californication is so far the best stuff.

Hot Fuzz.
But i could easily name more comedies that excelled over date & epic movie. Those cheap-shot comedy movies that parodied great movies or even a whole genre used to be fun, but with all the sequels to scary movie they turned the parody-genre into cheapo cash-ins without any redeeming value. How about you compare one of those turds to a timeless classic like spaceballs for example? I can still laugh about that one for hours, but i feel weird when somebody proposes to re-watch any of those newer scarier movies...

The Simpsons - yeah, its either love or hate, but at least they did something original
Ratatouille - havent seen it yet, as i hated all the anti-piracy trailers running in the cinema for over half a year with that ratatouille mouse, but it must be better than those turds
Mr Bean's Holiday - again, havent watched it, but would assume from the trailer, that its funnier and more original, if you like slapstick humour
That s three more than you actually wanted, hope you re happy

Oh, Ratatouille is a clever and hardcore comedy then? Jesus...
Mr. Bean = no comments. All slapstick humor is for rednecks and/or european peasants
Simpsons - yes.

i just checked imdb and the rating ratatouille got is still within the 100 best comedies at the moment...
and bashing the movies i used as example wont help you hide the fact that epic movie and dating movie as most of the scary movie sequels were pretty shitty. The parody genre is on a downslope because of those generic unfunny cash-ins from hollywood. Meet the spartans might even be the exception as i havent seen that yet and the trailer was funny, but i fear it wont make me enjoy a whole 90 minutes of reused jokes that worked better in south-park and other tv-comedy series

just weighing in, ratatouille was easily one of the funniest movies ive seen in a long time, so i think its an excellent example of a great comedy film, though i would probably list it more as animated family film, rather than comedy...
aside from that, im not one for naming great comedy films... i tend not to watch comedy films (that excludes 'family animated films' though) at all because theyve gotten so absolutely horrible.

Guys, this is just... I don't know... what does Ratatouille have to do with the genre discussed - hardcore comedy for adults (which doesn't mean tits but clever jokes)......?
FIRST of all it's family animation and THEN it's comedy. There's 'cute funny' and 'LFMAO funny'. We're talking about the second one. So leave disney stuff out please. As well as Flushed Away which is also hilarious in its own way (frogs, 'Ice-Cold Rita' song etc).

Epic Movie and Date Movie were two of the biggest pieces of fucking shit in cinematic history.

just look above and read your post again. The one that i quoted:
Quote: | Please name a good 2006-2007 comedy. |
I named like 4 from 2007 alone, that more than qualify as "comedy" in comparison to the two mentioned turds here.

You refer to the term 'comedy' in general which means Sponge Bob fits in too.

and yeah, if the spongebob movie was from 2006 / 7 i most likely would have posted that too
Sure it s different styles of comedy, but there are no contenders in the cheapshot-parody-genre at the moment apart from the two abysmal films you already pointed out. Sure, if they get you going, thats fine. I d rather watch an episode of south park, because it does that parody thing far better and more on time with recent events also. For example I m not sure i can stomach yet another "you got serverd" joke in a movie because south park did it better and earlier and funnier already. And i m not even overly critical with movies as others here. And since i liked 300 i even try out Meet the Spartans, because i still havent given up on the parody genre. No big hopes for a good movie though
