you are suppose to install CSS, then use the crack, then install steam but just register a new account, then exit steam and start CSS....worked for me

Yes install steam.
for some it may work if u have it uninstalled but they will come across some errors or problems.

Leave steam installed and exit the program everytime u play. thats it

question; can i start a server and have a friend join me on that? i tried last night calling it whatever but when he went through the list of servers to join, he couldnt find it .. and vice versa. how is this accomplished, if at all possible?

Counter-Strike Source UPDATES 10-EMPORiO out! Many fixes, still no online play on public servers but the cracked servers are fine for now... I hear there is a CRACKFiX for this too so keep your eyes open
