I'm building a new system , the only 2 parts I'm still using are my SCSI hd and the SCSI controller which are in my Sig, here the link to newegg http://secure.newegg.com/Newversion/Shopping/ShoppingCart.asp?Submit=view
what I'm looking for is a good to great video card around $600 won't kill me, also recommended power supply i was thinking around 800watt, thanks in advance...

Well, for 600$ you can get almost any card.

If you want one that's as good as possible for 600$, then get an 8800gtx.

it's the fastest card out right now and it won't be succeeded by a faster one anytime soon.

If you want to spend a bit less get an 8800 GTX. Almost as fast as the Ultra, it's the second fastest card right now. It goes for around 500-550$.

If you're happy with less than that, I would suggest you wait a few weeks for the release of the 8800 GT and the new and updated 8800 GTS cards.

The new 8800 GT which is coming out at the end of october is not as good as the GTX, but better than a GTS, but supports pixel shader 4.1 and and only costs around 250$ supposedly.

The new 8800 GTS with the G92 chip (same as 8800 gt) will be out at the same time and should be very close to the GTX performance wise while costing only 300-350$ probably.
So that's most likely gonna be the best bang for the buck, if you want to wait a few more weeks.
