Jesus fucking christ. Flash some money and they drop their fucking skirts like schoolgirls. Don't they fucking see what EA is doing? Don't those execs at Bioware give a shit that they are dooming the people that made them who they are, the programmers and artists and all the lower level staff to a life of underpaid corporate drudgery? All so they can retire and buy a fucking boat?
If I were an employee I'd go in there tomorrow and give em the fucking finger.
RIP Bioware.
Only hope now is that EA gets greedy to the point where it pulls an Enron - then we start clean again (unless Ubi picks up the pieces)....

Well..A game can be ported right from console to pc.
It only takes more time to do it right.
Like the controls and shit need to be re-worked of course.
Sometimes like halo-2 for PC. It is ported like shit on a plate.

EA Sports for example isn't that bad, FIFA is poor (particularly these days) but look at their other titles and you've got a very competitive market (and even FIFA has its fans). Games like Fight Night, Madden, NBA, NHL....(hell even the original FIFA).... these are some of the best sport franchises in history. Never forget that.
EA was there at the beginning. We need big publishing houses who'll throw money around but keep a keen eye on profitability - maybe they don't seem so important, but it's not the little guy who gets noticed in the wider world.
If we should be lamenting anyone here its Bioware. They don't care about their legacy and they haven't created a single decent game since KOTOR (and even that wasn't an RPG) - they have been moving steadily towards the console arena and they wanted this move I'm sure. Whether any good will come of it I doubt, but who knows - its possible.

Ive got quite a few EA games and I like most of them - nothing wrong with EA games apart from their lousy support and slow patch release. Ofc this is a BIG problem, but their actual games are imo damn good.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

i read the news today on a german tech-website and was freaked out at first. But seriously, if EA fucks up Bioware, people will just leave and form their own little gaming studios. It has happened before and will happen again. It s the games that count and although i hate EAs philosophy in general, they have released alot of decent to great games. And as long as Bethesda releases another Elder Scroll game i m fine with less RPGs

I doubt atari will last that long, their worse than EA if not the worse in the gaming market period next to techland. They've hit near rim bankruptcy god know how many times.

Okay, I feel I need to chime in.
This whole situation depends on how EA handles it. If they treat bioware like its own entity and just publish games and sort of oversee it, I don't see it as a bad thing. I can give an example in movie terms, Lord of the Rings. That franchise was fantastic, and movie studios have a reputation for churning out shit. They pumped the money to Peter Jackson, he made one of the most important movies of our times.. well, 3 of them.
If EA maybe breaks their own mold here, lets Bioware continue developing what it's working on now and working on their own ideas, incoming great games. Otherwise, lets hope the developers leave, create their own studio and do better than Roper did with Hellgate over however many years.

MTV games is indeed the publisher for Rock Band, but Electronic Arts Partners is the distributor, and they have been ever since the game was announced. Dunno how you could have missed that, as it's not exactly a secret that EA has a stake in it.

Yes cause maxis can't do shit other than the sims, and that franchise and been raped to death. EA has nothing other than EA sports keeping them around as well as the mindless idiots who eat the shit they develop. Mabye their a semi decent publisher but even then, they'll rush the developers to no end. What's the last new thing they created? ARMY OF TWO, and guess what, if that sells well, bet your ass there'll be army of 3, army of 4 etc. They have absolutley no talent end of story. |
