|
 |
With the new tv season kicking off, I'm seeing less and less HR HDTV releases. It's either the normal HDTV release with 2.0 sound or the x264 encoded 720p or 1080p releases.
For example, the last Heroes and Prison Break episodes are still not released in HR HDTV format.
Is this a trend developing? Because I've gotten quite attached to these HR HDTV releases. They offer 5.1 sound with a resolution that is good enough for a CRT television. I'm not interested in x264 releases because my X-Box won't play those and a 720p or 1080p release for a CRT is kinda pointless.

Enjoy the new HR x264's
|
hm? seems like ctu switched to x264 during a running season. although there had been
Family.Guy.S06E01.REAL.HR.PDTV.XviD-CTU
Family.Guy.S06E02.REAL.HR.PDTV.XviD-CTU
...
besides, all the hr smallville of the current season from ctu had been x264 aswell and there's no hr.hdtv.xvid ahead i think. well, it looks like it's x264 from now on. x264 looks great and there's nothing wrong with it, but switching to a different container during a running season (i.e. famguy) is pretty lame.

Unfortunately the HR.x264 releases won't play fluently on an X-Box with XBMC, where the HR.XviD releases work just fine. If release groups start to switch over to x264, I'll have to find another media player.

Can't you just hook your PC to the TV?

Meh CTU x264 rel. are crap. Most of the time they are out of sync or with garbage picture. They got properd like 20 times in 2 weeks.

Heroes ep3 and The big bang theory ep3 were rel. yesterday both were out of sync. I dont have time now to search for all bad rel. in 2 weeks but like i said they got properd because sync or cropping or bad encode.
