what's wrong with the nod32 trial update servers?
i tried to install nod32 like i normally would do, and use the fix.v2.2 (lastest afaik), but it didn't work, if i press update the program tells me there's no new update
well i looked at the server lists and some other things and figured the fix was using the trial update servers as they don't require a valid user/pass to get the lastest virus definitions..
then after that i uninstalled every single thing of nod32 i had on my pc, downloaded the trial version, installed that, rebooted and guess what, it's not updating
i also tried that nod32 server viewer, and found out it only gets a valid response (update.ver) from no-trial versions, bah.
so i took a look a that update.ver (which is a rarred textfile btw, rename to rar and open) and it has a few servers and and file locations in it, but they all are in protected paths (ie valid user/pass required)
bah i always liked nod32. kinda hate it now

What's the version of your virus signature database? I have the latest 2150 (20070328).

2047 (20070208)
it just says nod32 is up-to-date and there's no update necessary

Are you using the Nod32 Standard 2.70.32 or the Admin version?

well different ip didn't work
so i tried an older version of nod32 (2.51.30) with the v2.2 fix.. didn't work..
removed fix, applied v2.1 fix, works fine
only problem is i'd like to have the 2.70.x version of nod32 rather than the older 2.51.30 (2.7 has more protection against rootkits and the like)

You are getting that error because im guessing the fix sets the preferred update server to the NOD32_Eval server which doesnt exist anymore. Im working on a fix that resets the 30 day free trial on any trial version of NOD32 without any hassle. Its more or less done, just working on some nice design features
CHeers!

use nodlogin, just google it, on there site is the nod32 installer and the login prog, it just creates new username/pass whenever needed. Works a treat and has autoupdate for nodlogin

Ive made a little app that will automatically reset the remaining trial days of any NOD32 2.x version each time you boot up your computer (the user wont even notice).. not sure if anyone is interested?
