I have the LOLCATS release, it all installed and played fine until I quit at the medical pavilion, now when I try to load that it crashes after the loading screen.

i got also that but i 'bypassed ' it by loading the previous saved point and it works. i only got those crashes with quick saved points

This is really pissing me off, I've read this and a few other threads but can't seem to find a solution for my problem.
I run a fully updated WinXP SP2, uptodate Directx 9.0c, uptodate Nvidia drivers, uptodate .NET, uptodate Daemon tools. I do NOT have any problems with other games/applications whatsoever. My pc/videocard is more than capable of running this game.
I installed the LOLCATS proper without problems, installed the directx from the image, updated the c# redist. etc. I tried the crackfix, copied the 2 files, imported the reg file. Tried the mini image.
After each step I tried to run the .exe but each and every time it gives me the same error message:
"This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.", which is bullshit.
I have to admit, this is the first time I can NOT get a release to work, whatever I try. If you guys can come up with any other suggestions I'll give it a chance but I feel like I've explored every option.

your not supposed to use any crackfixes. LOLcats works by itself without any cracks needed, or did I misunderstand what you said.

Yeah I know, I tried it without first but it didn't work.Then I tried running it after each step, after each 'change' that I make and it keeps giving me the same results.
I must have tried at least 20 combinations with or without crack files/.reg file/mini image/lolcats release/... but I kept getting the same error message so I eliminated the other possible problem sources: out of date drivers/.NET/daemon/winupdates etc. I always use this process of elimination.
The funny thing is it installs just fine so I don't think it's the files at all. I'm actually more curious to find out what's causing this than playing the game itself!

I finally solved my problem by uninstalling and reinstalling the vc redist. Somehow it did not install properly, I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier. Anyway maybe this can be of use to someone else. Now let's play that damn game!

Does anyone know why can't I change the resolution in the game? I have FLT version with fixed crack (I know it's nuked). Graphic card is 8800 GTS and I'm using Vista 32bit with latest beta forceware drivers.
Default resolution is 1024, right? When i change it to 1280x1024 then game go to minimize mode (i can see my desktop) and after it nothing happens for tens of minutes..
Any tips?

Really annoying bug this thugh coz bioshock auto resets config if you kill bioshock.exe manually, any fix for that btw lol?
