Well, at least they got the name right. The game is a CRYSIS in its current state, feels like I'm playing a fuggin Alpha.
I run Bioshock, Stranglehold, Jericho Demo at well above acceptable frame rates. Crysis on the other hand (whether all set to low or all set to high), I'll be lucky to get above 30fps when staring at the fucking sky. When action starts - 10-15 fps.
So much for all those preview vids. and interviews touting how wonderfully scalable the engine is and how it will run great no matter the rig. And all those videos filmed on Quad SLI 8x Core machines that Bill Gates would be hard pressed to buy.
Granted, my AMD 4000+, 2 Gig, 8800 GTS (512mb) system is a bit aging, but this performance is fucking horrid.
They better put down the beer and sour kraut, they have a lot of fucking work to do.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Runs great here on my 7800gt with 1 gig ram and an Fx-57. Have you tried lowering the graphics settings or using advice from the beta forums? Performance for me is better than any Unreal Engine 3 game..

I run medium settings, shadows and post processing low, 1024 x 768, on AMD 4600, 7600GT 1 gig ram, and its smooth. There are pauses to load every so often but only last a second, other then that very very smooth gameplay and looks pretty damn good.
I get about a steady 30fps, gun fights are incredible smooth no problems, was killing everyone last game and game was running great, however there were artifacts appearing in the distant scenary.
The only problem is when you first start playing, everything is black and yellow and no textures, and things slowly pop in as you move around, takes awhile for the entire level to cache but once it does it doesnt do the same thing on future play throughs.
Anyways, the game has a great feeling to it, like a good shooter should, gunfights feel dead on and you can feel the power in your guns. Nukes are cool looking but really static besides the initial ground explosion, and no leveling of the terrain or anything, but still a neat effect first time you see it. I just played like 3 hours straight and enjoyed every minute of it, great fights, and a fun game overall. This time around they did multiplayer right, I had lots of doubts but this is a really great game and theres none of the special environment pyshic's in multiplayer so we dont even get to see the extent of that yet.

haven't done a lot of shooting, have just been scouting the landscape a bit, impressive sight to see, nice to see that the beta has the movable plants physics also.

I thought I only one that had these artifacts because of my old card (X800XL), but now it seems like everybody got them. Most of them seem to disappear with time, except for the buildings' interior textures.

Damn, this fuggin' beta runs like shit for me.
AMD 4600+ X2
2 GB RAM
8800 GTS (320 MB)
The FPS are acceptable, the only problem is the stuttering during the reloading of the game data (textures, etc.).
I've already killed as many Windows-Services as possible, but still no improvement.

it appears to be recompiling the shaders or something according to your graphics settings .similar to what battlefield does, but while battlefield does it during loading, this game does it ingame which is kinda annoying.
and yeah, most of that disappears over time obviously, as you play, but it's unplayable as long as you got all that shit on your screen. so you're just cannon fodder until your pc catches up. I hope that will be changed in the final version.
some of those artifacts don't seem to disappear at all though. everything seems to look fine, then you go into a building and it's full of yellow crap again.
the graphics are cool though, the gameplay is fun but nothing revolutionary there. Once the wow-factor of the graphics has worn off I doubt I'll play this beta a lot.
More interested in the single player anyway.
