"One of the biggest problems with Halo 2's matchmaking system was that it didn't have a similar functionality for Custom games. If players wanted to play a particular map or a custom gametype and couldn't get enough people in the room, there was no way for players to find that game. It segregated Custom Games and Matchmade games, completely. In Halo 3, that's changing. While Matchmaking and Custom games are still completely separate (ranks will only increase in the confines of Bungie's matchmaking service), for players who just want to play Custom Games, Bungie has created XBL Public.
XBL Public is where players can advertise their custom games and then players will be able to seek out modes, maps and gametypes. The multiplayer is so damn limited right now, its a fucking joke really. Been playing PC games online with these *normal* functions for years, but in 2007 on Halo 3 - I still have to put up with shit like this. Fuck.
This issue alone should fucking tear down the review scores by a big amount.
What where they thinking..

I personally found the COD4 multiplayer beta alot more fun then Halo 3 multiplayer. Where it takes actual skill to take out an enemy, rather then how quickly you can jump around like a spaz.

I have only 8k but yes I am teh big achievements whore!

You can get all the achievements aside from the ranked matched ones in co-op, not sure what your problem is. |

got about 13k+ but i've never played for achievements or anything
i do like that after spring update u can actually see what u achieved when it pops up, in Conan for example "Slice N' Dice" 
achievements would've been good if u can exchange them for some themes or extra content otherwise useless dick measuring contest |
at first I thought that was the deal. So I tried to buy something for 150points and it wouldn't let me. I went to google it and saw it was only for penis measuring |

personally can't sign in for a week, my bet is Halo 3 did all this
my connection checks out fine, i only get an error that xlive unavailable, try later or something like that
many ppl with unmodded console have same problem, so it's not bannings
