This thread is for the following release:
Counter-Strike: Source Final (c) Valve *READ NFO* *PROPER* - LUZIFER

Double-check what you have! Redirect flames to your nearest toliet.

Arrow FYI #1: cstrike.exe is merely a VB application that executes hl2.exe -steam -console -game cstrike - Don't let this release group make you believe this is a retail original.

Arrow Issue #1: SteamMountAppFilesystem() failed: SteamMountAppFilesystem(0x12e648) failed with error 4: Bad launch configuration

Resolution: Add SteamAppId=92 in your SteamApp.cfg file

Arrow Issue #2: Settings not saving upon exit

Resolution:: Remove read-only bit on ./cstrike/cfg/config.cfg file (or remove read-only bit on entire folder and propogate changes recursively)

Arrow Issue #3: Installation is taking forever; Installation stub is using ~100% CPU

Resolution:: The installer was obviously packaged together in quite a haste - No real fix for this but turning off your AV real-time scanning engines and 'upping CPU priority on the process helps.

I was getting issue one. I added the SteamAppID to my settings.

Now when I launch I am getting

SteamMountAppFilesystem() failed: SteamMountAppFilesystem (92,4294967295,0x10cfd0c) failed with error 5: No Steam Content Servers are available


Hmmm think steam patched already? it did run an update it seemed

Can you post your SteamApp.cfg file, minus your Steam account credentials? Are you using a patched Steam.dll file when you shouldn't be? The CRC-32 hash of that DLL is BFD55165

CResponseSystem::LoadFromBuffer: Unkown entry type'P', expecting 'response', 'criterion', 'emumeration' or 'rules' in file scipts/talker/response_rules.txt(offset:1)

got an error 2, :



The D:\ drive is my DvD burner so i don't know why cs:S should be creating a directory there Confused

My steamconfig file:

SteamInstallPath="E:\Gamez\Valve\Counter-Strike Source"

SteamUserPassphrase=xxx


Does any1 know where i can change that to the E:\ drive. I allready looked in the register. Couldnt find it.

Edit: Used the crackfix of luzifer and didn't work

Edit2: Oke i reinstalled cs:S on C: and now it just works Very Happy

Im having a simular problem:

im getting this message when im trying to start the game:
"*Error!* SteamMountAppFilesystem() faild: SteamMountAppFilesystem(92,4294967295,0x13ffd0c) faild with error 1: Failed to create directory d:\counter-strike-source, Win32 Error 21 "enheten är inte klar."

D: is also my burner but i have installed the game to "C:\Program Files\Valve\Counter-Strike Source" (by default)

im really horny for this game so help needed fast!

it works now......but i still can't play , when i want to enter a game i get the error this server is using a newer protocol (5) then your client

SteamApp.cfg is THE FILE
SteamAppId=92 is THE LINE

you need to edit THE FILE with notepad and then add THE LINE in THE FILE

Connecting to 203.34.186.13:27022...
The server requires that you be running STEAM

what do i need to do ??

Open console by pressing: ~ (If the console doesn't open, then go to Options in the menu and then to keyboard and then to advanced. Check the devs console box). Now type bot_add.

To add a bot to the ct: bot_add_ct
To add a bot to the t: bot_add_t

When u start CS:S u should first see a DOS-Prompt screen with Steam engine loadig........., it wil change to Steam engine running.....

If u don't see this then first run steamengine.exe in your install folder. then start CS:S

If u see this in your case, then i don't know whots wrong then....

no he says that the engine is running.
but can i even play online with this version of luzifer

I've had the same thing. My problem has changed since a re-install but it is essentially the same deal. Nobody seems to know how to fix this other than to dump the Luzifer and get the Emporio version.
