No, it won´t, the expansion packs won´t work with the PAL version either.

so if you have this version then expansion packs work fine but your PAL save won't load
and if you just grab the 2nd disc with the downloaded content to go along with a PAL version then the extra content won't work
so have to start a fresh
is that correct

Yes, both the Game and the Expansion Packs need to be the same Region to work together.

well i just put the main disc in and my save has loaded fine from my old version, just installing addons from disc 2, see what that does

i have installed the two addons and they show up in my downloads list in the menu on disc1 and my save still works, how do i know if shivering isle and knights of the nine actually work?

ok found the doorway to shirving isles, all working ok, my orginal backup must of been region-free, cool i can carry on with my original save

when i loaded my save after a couple of mins a message popped up suggesting that i vist a new doorway which had just emerged in the world, so made that my active quest, went there and swam out to a island and there it was

Does the GOTY Edition play differnt than the Original..?
Someone posted on another board saying the GOTY Edition was less choppy and played more smooth. Also that they fixed some textures and character models.
I wish I could remember where I read this so I could reference the post.

I played original Oblivion PAL and have my PAL save game on my hard disk
can I get disk 2 of this NTSC GOTY edition and play the shivering isles with my existing PAL save game ?

i got a HD so that is no problem.
The nfo did not say anything on how it was supposed to work.
As far as i am aware there is no way of putting stuff on your HD.
And even then would the XB accept it ?

You just pop in the second disc from the dashboard and it should load up like any other game... after a small intro it will ask you to select the expansion you would like to install. Knights of the Nine and/or Shivering Isles. Check the ones you want and hit install... there is no magic to it.
If you get dirty disc errors, its probably a bad burn.

Are the 2 expansion worth it?
Is it pure standalone quests? Or also storyline?
