Well, FYI, the game "stops" (i guess) and you choose the combat style and the opponent. So its a *BIT* different. |
Stops like in turn / phase based? The fighthing videos i've seen doesnt stop. |
watch a video.. you put the cursor over the guy you are fighting and you click at the right times and you do a successful combo, if you mess up and click at the wrong time you stumble or something like that

All European versions (even German) will not be censored. In American version devs had to limit nudity.

I only wrote the reviewers notes, i didn't play the game.
EDIT: I see mike has wrote exactly as the polish game reviewer.
@wjtk - well the reviewer actually played the game so either he is wrong or the devs changed their minds. Either way the spells and potions will have longer effects than f.e. Oblivion

I' ll take this as a very good sign thank you very much, they clearly used the old nwn engine as a simple starting point than remade it completely, the hardest thing to do, and longest, is to start a completely new engine but there are a lot of better engines out there than this, Oblivion comes to mind, maybe this one came cheap.
Will there be dx10 support?

I hope those requirements are a little exaggerated.
No, there will be no dx10 support

LOL - there must be a mistake in the Recommended Requirements. 7900gtx is WAY better than x1950 pro. Maybe they mean 7900GT.

the mistake is on the official site. And it must be a mistake, or those guys are crazy. You can't even compare x1950 pro with 7900gtx.

Wow, from what I am seeing, thinking more and more of canceling my pre-order for hellgate and just picking this one up instead. I can't believe this is using the nwn1 engine anymore, looks comparable, if not better than the gfx in nwn2. Also combat looks like a blast, with a bunch of different options with the witcher powers and alchemy, ect. Not to mention the interface looks really well put together. Glad they spent some extra time on this one.

I think the English version will have only one story - The Last Wish (good one, anyway) not the whole book. The Witcher Saga has 5 books, not three.
What Sapkowski wrote so far:
Two books of stories in the Witcher universum: The Last Wish (title of a story and of the whole book) and The sword of destiny. There is also and old tome of stories "The way with no return" but actually it has only one story not included in the other two books. It's not directly about the witcher, but about his parents.
Apart from that there is the Saga (stories are kind of prequels, giving insight into the hero and the universe). The saga consists of:
1. The blood of the elves
2. Time of contempt
3. Baptism of fire
4. Lady of the Lake
5. Tower of the Swallow
He also wrote a trilogy but having nothing in common with the Witcher, the setting is XVII century Silesia, but with elements of magic. Very good books too, but no Witcher.
There are also some other books but not directly connected with the Witcher universum or the other trilogy. I doubt they will be translated.
BTW The Witcher gone gold.
