Hi all,

the media I use to burn my 360 games isn't Vert, its Datawrite. It was alot cheaper and every copy worked. Until recently. Playing my original GOW i've always had issues with it not being able to read it properly. Recently all new games i've burnt have not loaded - saying the disk is dirty etc.

Now, I'm using 5.2FW - so no where near the most current. I think i also choose option D (which ever option was quieter where possible). Shoudl I get the newest firmwares? Could this help? It doesn't seem to spin the disks up enough before giving the DDE... I thought this may be linked to the FW?

The funny thing is, the console still reads most of the older burnt disks - just none of my newer burnt disks.

Could it be a faulty laser? Its a TS drive... when replacing, do you need to solder? I have no soldering experiance so would I be able to do it?

Should I try some verts? Even though i've not had any problems until I tried the darkness, both this and bioshock don't load.

Rargh!

Any help / advice much appriciated!

Well aren't the new releases patched with different shit (I'm just guessing here) and your old firmware unable to read it because of that. I think it's a firmware issue. But then again, I'm kinda talking out of my ass I suppose. Laughing

its not a fw issue, i run all new games fine on my TS running 4.2 fw, could be a dirty laser, but i would definitely try some verbs before you do anything drastic, also look on Xbox-scene forums for some tutorials on POT adjusting, after you have tried verbs that is.

The new discs could be a bad patch, different mediacode, different manufacturer and god knows what...

Ok i'll purchase some verts and give it another shot. Thanks!... I just found it wierd that all of a sudden my burns are not working, but they always worked before. In fact, I was burning them on a different burner - could this be the issue? I will try my first burner me thinks...

Laughing I'm sorry, but did the games stop working after you changed the burner? ...thats like the first I would have thought about then.
