Aye, AOE 2 with Conquerors expansion for sure. Some 6-7 hour battles that never ended. What a game!

5 Goldeneye 64

9 Thief 3 (so much better than t1/t2)

11 Morrowind (has to be modded though)
12 STALKER (hated this as first, defintely grew on me, superb maps and atmosphere)
13 Quake2 (loved the MP and singelplayer maps in this game)
14 Half Life
15 Waverace 64
16 GTA: San Andreas
17 Freedom Force Vs. The Third Reich (awesome characters in this game lol)
18 Gothic 2 (with expansion)
19 SWAT 3 (loved using speech recognition for this game to issue orders)
20 Galactic Civlilizations II (with Dark Avatar - the expansion, best turn based strategy game ever, Civ games doesnt even come close!)

UT2004, Gothic1, FO1, Darklands, monkey island series should've probably been in there somewhere, at least they're mentioned Wink

im suprised no1 mentioned Gabriel Knight Series its a very good adventure game from Sierra with a very good story and puzzles

Only game that ever really impressed me was the original Diablo. Others were good but nothing was like the first time I played it. I was so happy thinking every game on PC has to be this good. I was sooo wrong Sad

But if I have to make a list here it goes.

1.Diablo 1 (Diablo 2: played it maybe even more then the first. That ugly "save and exit" option was driving me crazy at first. When I fist saw that and the 640X480 resolution I was convinced its was a leaked beta version. Guess I was wrong.)
2.Planescape Torment (and I really hate baldurs gate and icewind dale this was a big shocker. Story and characters were masterfully done .)
3.Monkey Island 3(First one I played. 1&2 are maybe even better but as I played the MKI3 first, it became my favorite.MI4 was utter shit.)
4.Resident Evil 1(on PSX. The pc version was shit.)
5.MK3 (on sega mega drive. ;D Must have played it like million times when I was a kid. Knew all the combos fatalities and shit by heart.)
6.Vampire the masquerade:redemption(Was great but kinda linear as the game progressed. The only true vampire game. That had a really nice story, clans and shit.)
7.Beyond good and evil (Was fun dunno if it was the best though. Standard alien invasion save the world shit but in a fun new way.)
8.Metal Gear Solid 1 (No need to explain this one)
9.Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain (The Kain character was wicked and dastardly evil as a vampire should be Very Happy. Loved the "Vae Victis" battlecry.)
10.Dota (Warcraft 3 custom map.)
11.Disciples 2 (liked it better then Heroes mainly cause of the art. Heroes 3 was better in a strategic part. The WoG mod for Heroes 3 was great also.)
12.Warhammer 40.000 Dark Crusade(Think its the best RTS ever made. At least for me.)
13.Condemned:Criminal Origins(Dunno why its an ordinary FPS but the only one I played couple of times over and over. You can probably ignore this selection cause I don't like FPS's at all, as the are always so heavy on my hardware.)
14.Chronicles of Riddick (Same as above ordinary FPS but I loved it. Maybe cause I am the fan of the movies too, dunno.)
15.Live for speed (Racing game fun fun. Worked flawlessly on my old rig. )
16.PES 6 (With the big mod. Oh football game fun-fun)
17.Atomic Bomberman (Never met a person who doesn't find this game fun. Even a non gamer can win at this game. Its super fun. Even more so if there are more then 2 people playing xD)
18.Full Throttle/Grim Fandango(Lucas art classics,they are my second favorite adventure type games of all time. )
19.Theme Hospital/Dungeon Keeper (Bullfrog classics they bring back good memories)
20.Bubble Bobble/Karate Kid(commodore 64 loved these games when I was a kid grinhurt )

1. Planescape: Torment



The Game with the best of the best on every aspect - from the story to the ccharacters to the gameplay, to the very last detail.

2.The Neverhood



Simply put the best artistic achievement in a game to date, with humor and gameplay to boot.

3. Psychonauts



Creativity in development at it's best.

4. The Baldurs Gate series



RPG shouldn't have never escaped from the grasp of these well polished storytelling gems.

5. The Fallouts (minus tactics and the bethseda's fps)



Well, enough said.

6. Roller coaster tycoon's (minus the third one)



The most addicting and come-back-to games out there.

7. Deus Ex



Well it's Deus Ex. The reason why it's so far down the list is simply my preference. All of the above are simply better in my book.

8. Blade Runner



It's a shame westwood never stayed with RPGs cos' this is by far the best SF RPG ever made. Beats KoTor and Mass Effect for breakfast (not counting system shock into the category of pure rpg)

9. Half Life 1 and 2.



Best FPS's out there. Graphic and story wise.

10. Jagged Alliance 2



Now, I'm not a strategy guy but this one I could play all day long. Plus the feel of the game is great.

11. Dungeon Keeper 2



The game that spawned the concept which manyother games soon took to.

12. Anachronox



This game earned a place in the top 20.

13. Civilization (123 and 4)



Though I'm not a big fan, these games are a masterpiece.

14. Spore



Even though it's not out yest, I admire it's ambition.

15. Startopia.



Even though it's a Dungeon Keeper clone, it's still one of the best games I played.

16. Beyond Good And Evil.



An interesting mix of game styles with great story and gameplay.

17. Darwinia



Independent games at their best.

18. The Legacy of Kain series (especially all three Soul Reavers)



This story keeps me begging for more, I do consider it the best story ever told in a video game.

19. Alien vs. Predator 2



The only game which gives me goosebumps when I play it.

20. This spot is reserved for whenever my own game comes out.
