Ok, so the game doesn't run that well on my machine (as I expected) but I believe I can make it playable by pushing the graphics down to its lowest setting.
I haven't had a big chance to test the thing yet, so the question is, should I bother? Is the multi player anything like the BF series? Is it worthwhile?

Honestly I love the multi player, I think it has to be included in the recipe to make a good game. Is it worth your time atm, my opinion is no. Wait till its optimized a little more.

NOOOOOOO!!!! the demo is delayed 1 Month !!!! NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Quote: | Crysis Demo Delayed [September 21, 2007, 9:30 pm ET] - 11 Comments
EA and Crytek announce that October 26 is the new release date for the single-player demo for Crysis, Crytek's upcoming first-person shooter, just scant days before the demo's planned release on September 25 (story). Here's word on the delay from Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli, who explains they didn't want to jeopardize the timely release of the full game on November 16 with their efforts at getting the demo out the door, but that the demo will include the game editor as a consolation prize:
Hi everyone,
We have some news to announce.
First, I am sorry for the bad news - the Crysis single player demo will now be available everywhere on October 26th, 2007.
We are taking some extra time to make sure you that you have an amazing experience but also we did not want to risk the release date of Crysis at this stage. To get the game into your hands by November the 16th, we had to make this call.
Now the good news - the big surprise. The SP demo will be released with our CryEngine 2 - Sandbox 2 game editor, giving the community the opportunity to get familiar with the vast amount of tools they will have at their disposal four weeks before we ship, something we have always wanted to do.
This is an exciting time for us at the studio as the development of Crysis comes to an end and we are only a few weeks from Gold Master. We appreciate your patience and are looking forward to getting Crysis into your hands on November 16th.

what the fuck?!
they let like 50000000000 people play that demo months ago when they showed off the game to games magazines and stuff, but it's still not good enough for us?

Maybe FP payed EA off to hold the demo off so more would pay for their stupid subscriptions.

WTF
Edit: Quote: | Word is that the delay will allow for a more extensive beta test in the vein of Call of Duty 4. |

TBH, the performance is crap, and judging by the fact that the game is about a month and a half away, it won't be getting any better. Add to this that there are no new high end graphics cards until late winter/spring and this game is going to have serious issues. On my quad, 8800 SLI, 4GB etc I can get away with medium but even then @1920 x 1200 you can tell it is struggling.
I know, I know, its a new engine and its cutting edge, but if it runs badly on what amounts to a very high end machine I can only imagine how bad it is on lower spec machines.
Oh and that motion blur post $hit that seems to have made its way into every game lately is SERIOUSLY annoying. Thank god it can be turned off. It's like being on mushrooms ffs!
